[00:00:39] It's more than one thought.
[00:00:42] It is a big idea.
[00:00:44] It's because of oppression.
[00:00:46] A new role.
[00:00:54] For the faithful.
[00:01:22] You're listening to the Alchemical Tech Revolution, and I am your host, Wayne McRoy.
[00:01:27] Good evening, everyone.
[00:01:28] Tonight, we're going to talk about the mystery of the power of the blood.
[00:01:32] And what are we talking about here?
[00:01:34] Well, we hear the blood brought up all the time in the religious context, if you're a Christian.
[00:01:40] The power of the blood of Christ.
[00:01:42] The power of the blood.
[00:01:44] The life is in the blood.
[00:01:46] All these different things that we attribute to different religious teachings.
[00:01:50] But what is the occult significance of blood?
[00:01:54] And that's what we're going to discuss tonight.
[00:01:56] We're going to be reading from a lecture from Rudolf Steiner that was recorded in 1912.
[00:02:01] And this was a dusty old book from the back of the Brigham Young University Library that somebody was gracious enough to take out and scan to the internet.
[00:02:11] And it's a very interesting read, to say the least.
[00:02:16] And we're going to get into it because there seems to be this occult fascination with the blood, especially when you look at different aspects of things from within the secret society groups or the occult fraternities.
[00:02:28] Many of these places that perform magical rituals and things like that, or what they would consider magical rituals.
[00:02:35] They are obsessed with the idea of the blood.
[00:02:38] And what is the reasoning behind this?
[00:02:41] And we'll read here from Steiner.
[00:02:44] Because Rudolf Steiner had some very profound type of insight into many of these things.
[00:02:51] And was able to communicate in a very effective manner the different meanings that lie behind many of these things.
[00:02:58] What the true teachings of the ancient mystery schools were.
[00:03:02] What they've kind of been turned into as time has gone on.
[00:03:07] And the various things that have gone along with it.
[00:03:10] Now he comes from a background of theosophy kind of mixed with Rosicrucianism.
[00:03:15] And he formed his own branch of esoteric teaching called Anthroposophy.
[00:03:21] Steiner had some very interesting insights.
[00:03:24] He was very much regarded as being a highly intuitive person.
[00:03:31] He understood many of these things.
[00:03:33] Like he inherently understood many of the teachings.
[00:03:36] And was very good at conveying the meaning thereof.
[00:03:39] Many of the things that he has said seem to be coming to pass.
[00:03:43] And it would appear that many of the things he talked about were very prophetic in a way.
[00:03:48] And they do align very much with not only some of the other teachings we get from some of these other secret society groups.
[00:03:56] But they align very much so with mainline Christian religion.
[00:04:01] And Christian theology.
[00:04:03] And I find that to be an important thing.
[00:04:06] Because Steiner, when he approached this stuff, he never went into it as a Christian mystic or anything like that, so to say.
[00:04:14] Through his studies and through his discoveries and the things he was able to figure out on his own here.
[00:04:21] He came to the knowledge that this is absolutely the correct path for Western society.
[00:04:27] The whole Christian religion.
[00:04:29] The whole Christian teaching.
[00:04:31] Everything that underlies all of that.
[00:04:33] And so he applied that to his anthroposophy and to many of the other things that he taught on.
[00:04:40] And I find that to be an important thing.
[00:04:42] When you look at some of these other secret society groups, they seem to be very anti-Christian.
[00:04:47] Now the Rosicrucians claim to also take up the Christian branch of things.
[00:04:53] When you actually look at the core teachings and tenets that they offer you, it's not the same.
[00:04:59] It's actually contrary to much of what Christian theology should be.
[00:05:05] They kind of discredit Christianity in many ways.
[00:05:09] And that's something Steiner has never done.
[00:05:11] In fact, he's helped to support the idea of Christianity as being important.
[00:05:17] And, you know, the Rosicrucians, it could be argued, also do the same thing.
[00:05:22] The Jesuits, however, they do a lot of things that don't make Christianity look good.
[00:05:27] But at any rate, Steiner, I find, seems to be the most on target from what I've seen with a lot of these things.
[00:05:34] So that's why I've been taking the time to read a lot more of his stuff as of late and present it here.
[00:05:40] So tonight we're going to look at this.
[00:05:42] This was an interesting book that I happened to find by accident.
[00:05:45] And it's called The Occult Significant of Blood.
[00:05:48] It was written in 1912.
[00:05:51] It was actually a lecture he gave that was translated by a couple of gentlemen here,
[00:05:56] whose names are on the book here, in English.
[00:05:58] Because I guess Steiner taught this, I think, primarily in German at the time.
[00:06:04] I could be mistaken about that.
[00:06:06] Let's get right into it here.
[00:06:08] The Occult Significant of Blood.
[00:06:11] Blood is a very special fluid, it says in quotation marks here.
[00:06:16] Each one of you will doubtless be aware that the title of this lecture is taken from Goethe's Faust.
[00:06:22] You all know that in this poem we are shown how Faust, the representative of the higher human effort,
[00:06:28] enters into a pact with the evil powers who on their side are represented in the poem by Mephistopheles, the emissary of hell.
[00:06:37] You will know, too, that Faust is to strike a bargain with Mephistopheles, the deed of which must be signed with his own blood.
[00:06:46] Faust, in the first instance, looks upon it as a jest.
[00:06:50] Mephistopheles, however, at this juncture utters the sentence which Goethe without doubt intended should be taken seriously.
[00:06:58] Blood is a very special fluid.
[00:07:01] Now, with reference to this line in Goethe's Faust, we come to a curious trait in the so-called Goethe commenter.
[00:07:08] You are, of course, aware how vast is the literature dealing with Goethe's version of the Faust legend.
[00:07:13] It is a literature of such stupendous dimensions that whole libraries might be stocked with it,
[00:07:18] and naturally I cannot make it my business to expatiate on the various comments made by these interpreters of Goethe concerning this particular passage.
[00:07:27] None of the interpretations throw much more light on the sentence than that given by one of the latest commentators, Professor Minor.
[00:07:35] He, like others, treats it in the light of an ironical remark made by Mephistopheles,
[00:07:41] and in this connection he makes the following really very curious observation,
[00:07:46] and one to which I would ask you to give your best attention,
[00:07:50] for there is little doubt that you will be surprised to hear what strange conclusions commentators on Goethe are capable of drawing,
[00:07:58] Professor Minor remarks that, quote,
[00:08:01] the devil is a foe to the blood, end quote.
[00:08:04] And he points out that as the blood is that which sustains and preserves life,
[00:08:09] the devil, who is the enemy of the human race, must therefore also be the enemy of blood.
[00:08:16] He then, and quite rightly, draws attention to the fact that even in the oldest versions of the Faust legend,
[00:08:22] and indeed in legends generally, blood always plays the same part.
[00:08:28] And I'm going to pause for a moment there, folks.
[00:08:30] So you see, drawing heavily from Faust, this line has been kind of overlooked through the years by many commentators on it,
[00:08:39] but Steiner picked up on something here, and as did this Professor Minor that he's quoting from here,
[00:08:45] that he found to be very important, important enough to mention in this context.
[00:08:49] So, that being the case, he understood that there's an important connotation to the blood,
[00:08:57] and we'll see what that is as we go on here.
[00:09:00] In an old book on Faust, it is circumstantially described to us how Faust makes a slight incision in his left hand with a small penknife,
[00:09:10] and how then he takes the pen to sign his name to the agreement,
[00:09:14] the blood flowing from the cut forms the word, O man, escape.
[00:09:20] All this is authentic enough, but now comes the remark that the devil is a foe to the blood,
[00:09:25] and that this is the reason for his demanding that signature be written in blood.
[00:09:29] I should like to ask you whether you can imagine any person being desirous of possessing the very thing for which he has antithope.
[00:09:38] The only reasonable explanation that can be given, not only as to Goethe's meaning in this passage,
[00:09:44] but also as to the attaching to the main legend as well as to the older Faust poems,
[00:09:50] is that to the devil blood was something special,
[00:09:53] and that it was not at all a matter of indifference to him whether the deed was signed in ordinary neutral ink or in blood.
[00:10:02] We can here suppose nothing else than that the representative of the powers of evil believes,
[00:10:08] nay is convinced,
[00:10:10] that he will have Faust more especially in his power,
[00:10:14] if he can only gain possession of at least one drop of his blood.
[00:10:18] This is self-evident, and no one can really understand the line otherwise.
[00:10:24] Faust is to inscribe his name in his own blood,
[00:10:27] not because the devil is inimical to it,
[00:10:30] but rather because he desires to gain power over it.
[00:10:34] And I'm going to pause for a moment there, folks.
[00:10:36] So you see, what's being implied here,
[00:10:39] is that having the power or possession over one's blood is to have power over them, over the person.
[00:10:46] And this is a hugely important idea.
[00:10:48] When we look at this from the occult context,
[00:10:51] that's why many of these rituals that these secret societies and magical orders and stuff like that,
[00:10:59] secret brotherhoods do and perform,
[00:11:01] are blood rituals.
[00:11:03] Even the Freemasons, when it comes down to it,
[00:11:05] they take blood oaths.
[00:11:07] They don't actually sign their names in blood or anything that I'm aware of in the degree system,
[00:11:13] but they do swear that if they betray the secrets of the order,
[00:11:18] various bad things will happen that spill their blood.
[00:11:20] So they take a blood oath.
[00:11:22] So there's a very real connotation to this,
[00:11:25] that it gives some entity or some organization power over others
[00:11:30] to have power over their blood.
[00:11:33] Now, there is a remarkable perception underlying this passage,
[00:11:37] namely that he who gains power over a man's blood
[00:11:40] gains power over the man.
[00:11:42] And that blood is, quote,
[00:11:44] a very special fluid, end quote,
[00:11:46] because it is that about which, so to speak,
[00:11:50] the real fight must be waged when it comes to a struggle concerning the man between good and evil.
[00:11:57] All those things which have come down to us,
[00:12:01] in the legends and myths of various nations,
[00:12:03] and which touch upon human life,
[00:12:05] will in our day undergo a peculiar transformation
[00:12:08] with regard to the whole conception and interpretation of human nature.
[00:12:22] Indeed, the time has even gone by when,
[00:12:25] in a half-learned, half-childlike way,
[00:12:27] it was the fashion to allude to legends as the poetical expression of a nation's soul.
[00:12:33] Now, this so-called poetic soul of a nation
[00:12:36] is nothing but the product of learned red tape,
[00:12:40] for this kind of red tape exists just as much as the official variety.
[00:12:44] Anyone who has ever looked into the soul of a people
[00:12:47] is quite well aware that he is not dealing with imaginative fiction or anything of the kind,
[00:12:53] but with something very much more profound.
[00:12:56] And that, as a matter of fact,
[00:12:57] the legends and fairy tales of the various peoples
[00:13:00] are expressive of wonderful powers and wonderful events.
[00:13:04] And I'm going to pause for a moment there, folks.
[00:13:06] So he's speaking here about the concept of national identity,
[00:13:14] very much about national identity and racial identity.
[00:13:18] And we'll see as we get through the reading here a little bit further.
[00:13:22] In order for somebody to have power over this,
[00:13:25] this lesson, this type of mythology, so to say, of things here,
[00:13:31] they have to have a certain power over the blood of the people involved.
[00:13:36] There's more to the mythology that's told in the heritage,
[00:13:42] the culture, the stories of the culture
[00:13:44] that relate in these regards to things.
[00:13:46] Sometimes it's something much deeper,
[00:13:48] and it's tied to the blood,
[00:13:51] the power of mythology and archetype.
[00:13:54] Once again, this is something that's lost on modern culture in so many ways.
[00:14:00] To so many people, we just have absolutely no understanding
[00:14:05] of how mythology is used to steer our everyday behaviors.
[00:14:10] And this is something I've been trying to make people more aware of,
[00:14:14] because it's something that has only, within recent years,
[00:14:17] become a point that I've noticed myself and I've had open up to me
[00:14:22] so that I could understand a little better
[00:14:25] just the ways in which the power structure in this world manipulate people.
[00:14:30] And they manipulate people with mythology and archetype,
[00:14:32] and they don't understand or realize it's going on.
[00:14:36] And there's a reason for this.
[00:14:38] That's the whole reason why we're not taught mythology in school anymore.
[00:14:41] We're not taught all of these older stories.
[00:14:44] This is the reason, because there's something archetypal
[00:14:47] about these mythological stories
[00:14:48] that they could use to manipulate our behavior.
[00:14:51] See, it's all about the social engineering of behavior,
[00:14:54] and they have to use a subjective idea,
[00:14:57] like mythology, to do it in many ways.
[00:14:59] And if we don't understand what they're doing,
[00:15:02] we don't recognize this myth
[00:15:05] that they use to steer our minds for what it is.
[00:15:08] And there's something archetypal about it.
[00:15:11] Your unconscious mind recognizes the archetype thereof,
[00:15:15] but your conscious mind doesn't recognize it at all.
[00:15:19] So this gives them a level of control over the subconscious mind
[00:15:22] that's incomprehensible to most people.
[00:15:24] And this is the importance of myth,
[00:15:26] and I'm sorry I got sidetracked there with that,
[00:15:29] but it's an important idea that Steiner's pointing out here as well,
[00:15:33] in regards to the blood,
[00:15:34] because the blood sometimes and often plays a role
[00:15:39] in this use of the mythological archetype against people
[00:15:43] or for the manipulation of people.
[00:15:46] So let's continue on here.
[00:15:49] If from the new standpoint of spiritual investigation
[00:15:53] we meditate upon the old legends and myths,
[00:15:55] allowing those grand and powerful pictures,
[00:15:58] which have come down from primeval times,
[00:16:00] to work upon our minds,
[00:16:02] we shall find,
[00:16:03] if we have been equipped for our task
[00:16:05] by the methods of occult science,
[00:16:07] that these legends and myths
[00:16:08] are the expressions of a most profound and ancient wisdom.
[00:16:12] It is true,
[00:16:13] we may at first be inclined
[00:16:16] to ask how it comes about that
[00:16:17] in a primitive state of development,
[00:16:19] and with primitive ideas,
[00:16:21] unsophisticated man was able to present
[00:16:23] the riddles of the universe to himself pictorially
[00:16:26] in these legends and fairy tales,
[00:16:28] and how it is that,
[00:16:30] when we meditate on them now,
[00:16:32] we behold in them in pictorial form
[00:16:34] what the occult investigation of today
[00:16:37] is revealing to us with greater clearness.
[00:16:40] This is a matter which at first
[00:16:43] is bound to excite surprise.
[00:16:45] And yet,
[00:16:46] he who probes deeper and deeper
[00:16:48] into the ways and means
[00:16:49] by which these fairy tales and myths
[00:16:51] have come into being
[00:16:52] will find every trace of surprise vanish,
[00:16:56] every doubt pass away.
[00:16:57] Indeed,
[00:16:58] he will find in these legends
[00:16:59] not only what is termed
[00:17:01] a naive and unsophisticated view of things,
[00:17:03] but the wondrously deep
[00:17:05] and wise expression
[00:17:06] of a primordial
[00:17:07] and true conception
[00:17:09] of the world.
[00:17:10] And I'm going to pause
[00:17:11] for a moment there, folks.
[00:17:13] So you see,
[00:17:15] Steiner recognized
[00:17:16] in his day
[00:17:18] the same thing was going on then.
[00:17:20] They were trying to push
[00:17:21] the idea of
[00:17:22] legend and myth
[00:17:24] and fairy tale,
[00:17:25] all of these things
[00:17:26] out of our education.
[00:17:28] These were ideas
[00:17:29] that were being pushed
[00:17:30] to the back burner.
[00:17:31] People were being taught
[00:17:32] to think of them
[00:17:33] as backwards
[00:17:33] and archaic
[00:17:34] and childish
[00:17:35] and foolish.
[00:17:37] And this is what we've seen
[00:17:39] crafted
[00:17:40] into our society today.
[00:17:42] Many people think
[00:17:43] of these things
[00:17:44] as doesn't have any meaning
[00:17:46] in today's world
[00:17:47] in the modern age.
[00:17:48] It's backwards.
[00:17:49] It's archaic.
[00:17:50] These ancient people,
[00:17:51] they believed in
[00:17:52] all these different gods
[00:17:53] and stuff fighting
[00:17:53] in the sky
[00:17:54] or whatever,
[00:17:55] this kind of stuff.
[00:17:56] And they belittle it,
[00:17:58] not recognizing
[00:18:00] the power
[00:18:01] that lies behind
[00:18:03] those stories.
[00:18:05] See,
[00:18:05] it's something archetypal
[00:18:07] deep within man.
[00:18:08] Something that can be
[00:18:10] manipulated
[00:18:10] by somebody
[00:18:11] that knows
[00:18:12] what they're doing
[00:18:12] with it.
[00:18:13] But,
[00:18:14] the thing is,
[00:18:15] if you're aware
[00:18:16] of the stories,
[00:18:18] you know the stories
[00:18:19] and you could recognize
[00:18:20] the story being told
[00:18:22] to you for what it is
[00:18:23] and say,
[00:18:23] hey,
[00:18:24] that's the myth
[00:18:25] of such and such
[00:18:25] I see going on
[00:18:26] right now,
[00:18:28] then you may have
[00:18:29] a better understanding
[00:18:30] of what's being done,
[00:18:31] how they intend
[00:18:32] to manipulate your mind
[00:18:34] in a certain way,
[00:18:36] or,
[00:18:36] you know,
[00:18:37] what kind of response
[00:18:38] that you're being
[00:18:39] conditioned to give.
[00:18:40] And a perfect example
[00:18:41] of this would be
[00:18:42] the story
[00:18:44] of how CNN
[00:18:45] got its start
[00:18:46] in the 24-hour news cycle.
[00:18:49] And we did a show
[00:18:50] on this
[00:18:51] on Crow 777 Radio,
[00:18:52] I think it was
[00:18:52] episode 171.
[00:18:54] This one was hugely important
[00:18:56] because this one
[00:18:57] pointed out
[00:18:58] the very thing
[00:18:59] that kicked off
[00:19:00] the 24-7 news cycle
[00:19:02] which affects
[00:19:02] the minds
[00:19:03] of so many people.
[00:19:04] And this was steeped
[00:19:06] in the myth
[00:19:07] of Veritas.
[00:19:08] Veritas
[00:19:09] lost
[00:19:10] down in the well.
[00:19:11] and in the myth
[00:19:14] Prometheus
[00:19:15] molds a statue,
[00:19:17] a lifelike statue
[00:19:18] of Veritas
[00:19:20] in his workshop
[00:19:21] but it's an incomplete
[00:19:23] statue.
[00:19:24] The only thing
[00:19:24] it's missing
[00:19:25] is the feet
[00:19:25] and this statue
[00:19:27] becomes animated
[00:19:28] and is an imitation
[00:19:30] of the truth.
[00:19:31] It's a falsehood
[00:19:32] let loose
[00:19:33] in the world
[00:19:34] while truth
[00:19:34] is buried
[00:19:36] in a well.
[00:19:37] And this was
[00:19:38] launched
[00:19:38] by CNN
[00:19:41] in the form
[00:19:42] of the Baby
[00:19:42] Jessica story.
[00:19:44] I don't know
[00:19:44] if many of you
[00:19:45] are old enough
[00:19:46] to remember
[00:19:46] what happened
[00:19:47] with Baby
[00:19:47] Jessica
[00:19:48] back in 1987
[00:19:49] I want to say
[00:19:50] it was.
[00:19:51] Baby Jessica
[00:19:52] Jessica McClure
[00:19:53] I believe
[00:19:54] was her name.
[00:19:55] She was 18 months
[00:19:56] old and she fell
[00:19:57] in a well.
[00:19:58] And this got
[00:19:58] 24-7 news coverage
[00:20:00] for like three days
[00:20:01] or something like that
[00:20:02] and the rescue workers
[00:20:04] rescued her
[00:20:04] from the well.
[00:20:05] And this was a direct
[00:20:06] adaptation
[00:20:07] of the story
[00:20:08] of the mythology
[00:20:10] of Veritas
[00:20:11] lost in the well
[00:20:12] signifying
[00:20:13] that truth
[00:20:14] was from then on
[00:20:17] by the news media
[00:20:18] thrown down the well
[00:20:20] to be gone forever
[00:20:21] and replaced
[00:20:22] with a facsimile
[00:20:24] a fake news
[00:20:25] a type of a lie
[00:20:28] an artificial knockoff
[00:20:30] one missing its feet
[00:20:31] that has no foundation
[00:20:33] in truth.
[00:20:34] See
[00:20:34] that's how the story goes
[00:20:36] because Prometheus
[00:20:37] molded this exact replica
[00:20:38] of Veritas
[00:20:41] and was able to
[00:20:42] animate it
[00:20:42] but it was missing
[00:20:43] its feet
[00:20:43] it had no feet
[00:20:44] therefore it had
[00:20:45] no foundation
[00:20:46] it had no basis
[00:20:47] in truth
[00:20:48] and was a lie.
[00:20:50] So
[00:20:50] with that
[00:20:51] CNN
[00:20:53] and the 24-hour
[00:20:54] news cycle
[00:20:55] was born
[00:20:56] and they had
[00:20:57] made this
[00:20:59] that everything
[00:21:00] you would see
[00:21:00] come across
[00:21:01] your television set
[00:21:02] in the quote-unquote
[00:21:03] news media
[00:21:04] from that time forward
[00:21:05] has been nothing
[00:21:06] but a lie.
[00:21:07] Now don't get me wrong
[00:21:08] I'm sure before that time
[00:21:10] there were many lies
[00:21:11] promulgated on the news
[00:21:12] but this
[00:21:13] was a
[00:21:15] doubling down
[00:21:16] of the effect
[00:21:17] on the human mind
[00:21:18] in a very real sense
[00:21:20] because
[00:21:20] this is what launched
[00:21:22] the 24-hour
[00:21:23] a day
[00:21:23] news cycle
[00:21:24] up until that point
[00:21:25] that did not exist.
[00:21:27] You got your news
[00:21:27] in little snippets
[00:21:28] on the evening news
[00:21:29] or maybe in the morning
[00:21:31] and the news
[00:21:33] was only on the television
[00:21:34] maybe
[00:21:34] three four times a day
[00:21:36] at most.
[00:21:37] Now
[00:21:38] you were inundated
[00:21:39] with news
[00:21:40] 24-7
[00:21:41] and this was the very
[00:21:43] mythological archetype
[00:21:45] that was used
[00:21:45] to launch that
[00:21:47] into existence
[00:21:48] and to whisper
[00:21:49] lies
[00:21:50] into your ears
[00:21:51] about the world
[00:21:53] creating an illusion
[00:21:54] of what the world
[00:21:55] around you
[00:21:56] is
[00:21:57] or what they
[00:21:58] wanted it to be.
[00:21:59] So anyway
[00:22:00] that's kind of
[00:22:01] the important context
[00:22:02] there
[00:22:02] but that was
[00:22:02] a powerful episode
[00:22:04] we did
[00:22:04] on Crow Triple 7
[00:22:06] radio
[00:22:06] I think it was
[00:22:07] 171
[00:22:07] was the episode number
[00:22:08] if anybody wants
[00:22:09] to give that
[00:22:10] a listen again
[00:22:11] because it's now
[00:22:11] more pertinent
[00:22:12] than ever
[00:22:13] in the light
[00:22:14] of things going
[00:22:15] on in the world
[00:22:15] today
[00:22:16] but at any rate
[00:22:18] let's go ahead
[00:22:19] and we'll continue
[00:22:20] with the reading
[00:22:22] here.
[00:22:22] very much
[00:22:24] may be learned
[00:22:25] by thoroughly
[00:22:26] examining the
[00:22:27] foundations of
[00:22:27] these myths
[00:22:28] and legends
[00:22:28] than by absorbing
[00:22:30] the intellectual
[00:22:31] and experimental
[00:22:31] science of the
[00:22:32] present day
[00:22:33] but for work
[00:22:34] of this kind
[00:22:35] the student
[00:22:36] must of course
[00:22:36] be familiar
[00:22:37] with those
[00:22:38] methods of
[00:22:39] investigation
[00:22:39] which belong
[00:22:40] to spiritual
[00:22:41] science.
[00:22:43] Now all that
[00:22:44] is contained
[00:22:44] in these
[00:22:45] legends
[00:22:46] and ancient
[00:22:46] world conceptions
[00:22:47] about the blood
[00:22:48] is wont to be
[00:22:49] of importance
[00:22:50] since in
[00:22:51] those remote
[00:22:52] times
[00:22:52] there was
[00:22:53] a wisdom
[00:22:54] by means
[00:22:54] of which
[00:22:55] man understood
[00:22:56] the true
[00:22:56] and wide
[00:22:57] significance
[00:22:58] of blood
[00:22:59] this very
[00:23:00] special fluid
[00:23:01] which is
[00:23:02] itself
[00:23:02] the flowing
[00:23:03] life of
[00:23:04] human beings.
[00:23:05] We cannot
[00:23:06] today
[00:23:06] enter into
[00:23:07] the question
[00:23:08] as to
[00:23:09] whence came
[00:23:09] this wisdom
[00:23:10] of ancient
[00:23:11] times
[00:23:11] although
[00:23:12] some indication
[00:23:12] of this
[00:23:13] will be given
[00:23:14] at the close
[00:23:14] of the lecture.
[00:23:15] The actual
[00:23:16] study
[00:23:17] of this
[00:23:17] subject
[00:23:18] must however
[00:23:19] stand over
[00:23:19] to be dealt
[00:23:20] with in
[00:23:21] future
[00:23:21] lectures.
[00:23:22] The blood
[00:23:23] itself
[00:23:24] its import
[00:23:25] for man
[00:23:26] and the part
[00:23:27] it plays
[00:23:28] in the progress
[00:23:28] of human
[00:23:29] civilization
[00:23:30] will today
[00:23:31] occupy
[00:23:31] our attention.
[00:23:33] We shall
[00:23:33] consider it
[00:23:34] neither from
[00:23:35] the physiological
[00:23:36] nor from
[00:23:36] the purely
[00:23:37] scientific
[00:23:38] point of view
[00:23:38] but shall
[00:23:39] rather take
[00:23:40] it from
[00:23:40] the standpoint
[00:23:41] of a
[00:23:41] spiritual
[00:23:42] conception
[00:23:42] of the
[00:23:43] universe.
[00:23:44] We shall
[00:23:44] best approach
[00:23:45] our subject
[00:23:46] if to begin
[00:23:46] with we
[00:23:47] understand the
[00:23:48] meaning of
[00:23:48] an ancient
[00:23:49] maxim
[00:23:49] one which
[00:23:51] is intimately
[00:23:51] connected with
[00:23:52] the civilization
[00:23:53] of ancient
[00:23:53] Egypt
[00:23:54] where the
[00:23:55] priestly
[00:23:55] wisdom of
[00:23:56] Hermes
[00:23:57] flourished.
[00:23:58] It is an
[00:23:59] axiom which
[00:23:59] forms the
[00:24:00] fundamental
[00:24:00] principle of
[00:24:01] all spiritual
[00:24:02] science
[00:24:03] and which
[00:24:03] has become
[00:24:04] known as
[00:24:05] the Hermetic
[00:24:06] axiom
[00:24:06] and it
[00:24:07] runs
[00:24:08] as above
[00:24:09] so below.
[00:24:11] You will
[00:24:11] find that
[00:24:12] there are
[00:24:12] many
[00:24:13] dilettante
[00:24:13] interpretations
[00:24:14] of this
[00:24:15] sentence.
[00:24:15] The explanation
[00:24:16] however
[00:24:17] which is to
[00:24:17] occupy us
[00:24:18] today
[00:24:19] is the
[00:24:19] following
[00:24:20] It is
[00:24:21] plain
[00:24:21] to
[00:24:22] spiritual
[00:24:23] science
[00:24:23] that the
[00:24:23] world to
[00:24:24] which man
[00:24:25] has primary
[00:24:25] access
[00:24:26] by means
[00:24:27] of his
[00:24:27] five senses
[00:24:28] does not
[00:24:30] represent
[00:24:31] the entire
[00:24:31] world
[00:24:32] that it
[00:24:33] is in
[00:24:33] fact only
[00:24:34] the expression
[00:24:34] of a
[00:24:35] deeper
[00:24:35] world
[00:24:36] hidden
[00:24:36] behind
[00:24:37] it
[00:24:37] namely
[00:24:38] the
[00:24:39] spiritual
[00:24:39] world
[00:24:39] and I'm
[00:24:40] going to
[00:24:40] pause
[00:24:40] for a
[00:24:41] moment
[00:24:41] there
[00:24:41] folks
[00:24:42] this is
[00:24:43] a huge
[00:24:43] idea
[00:24:44] you see
[00:24:45] that the
[00:24:45] world we
[00:24:46] see around
[00:24:47] us
[00:24:47] this
[00:24:47] physical
[00:24:47] material
[00:24:48] world
[00:24:49] we live
[00:24:49] in
[00:24:50] that we
[00:24:50] could
[00:24:50] experience
[00:24:52] through
[00:24:52] our
[00:24:52] five
[00:24:53] basic
[00:24:53] senses
[00:24:54] here
[00:24:54] is not
[00:24:55] the
[00:24:56] entirety
[00:24:57] of the
[00:24:58] world
[00:24:59] it's
[00:25:00] not
[00:25:00] the
[00:25:00] entirety
[00:25:01] of
[00:25:02] causation
[00:25:03] and most
[00:25:04] everything
[00:25:05] has
[00:25:06] causation
[00:25:07] within
[00:25:08] these
[00:25:09] spiritual
[00:25:09] worlds
[00:25:10] or these
[00:25:11] different
[00:25:11] worlds
[00:25:11] that
[00:25:12] coexist
[00:25:12] with us
[00:25:13] that we
[00:25:13] can't
[00:25:14] detect
[00:25:14] it's
[00:25:15] just
[00:25:15] below
[00:25:15] the
[00:25:16] threshold
[00:25:16] of our
[00:25:17] understanding
[00:25:17] of our
[00:25:18] detection
[00:25:18] so with
[00:25:20] that being
[00:25:20] the case
[00:25:20] we need
[00:25:22] to understand
[00:25:23] that
[00:25:23] many times
[00:25:24] these
[00:25:25] physical
[00:25:26] things
[00:25:26] that we
[00:25:27] see
[00:25:27] these
[00:25:27] physical
[00:25:28] properties
[00:25:31] the
[00:25:32] shadow
[00:25:32] of
[00:25:33] something
[00:25:33] spiritual
[00:25:34] something
[00:25:35] that
[00:25:36] underlies
[00:25:37] all of
[00:25:37] it
[00:25:37] so
[00:25:38] that's
[00:25:38] what
[00:25:39] Steiner
[00:25:39] is
[00:25:39] alluding
[00:25:39] to
[00:25:40] here
[00:25:40] so
[00:25:41] with
[00:25:42] that
[00:25:42] being
[00:25:42] the
[00:25:43] case
[00:25:43] let's
[00:25:43] continue
[00:25:44] with
[00:25:44] the
[00:25:45] reading
[00:25:45] here
[00:25:45] this
[00:25:46] spiritual
[00:25:46] world
[00:25:47] is
[00:25:47] called
[00:25:48] according
[00:25:48] to
[00:25:48] the
[00:25:48] hermetic
[00:25:49] axiom
[00:25:49] the
[00:25:50] higher
[00:25:50] world
[00:25:51] the
[00:25:52] world
[00:25:52] above
[00:25:53] and
[00:25:54] the
[00:25:54] world
[00:25:54] of
[00:25:54] the
[00:25:54] senses
[00:25:55] which
[00:25:55] is
[00:25:55] displayed
[00:25:55] around
[00:25:56] us
[00:25:56] the
[00:25:57] existence
[00:25:57] of
[00:25:57] which
[00:25:58] we
[00:25:58] know
[00:25:58] through
[00:25:58] the
[00:25:58] medium
[00:25:59] of
[00:25:59] our
[00:25:59] senses
[00:26:00] and
[00:26:00] which
[00:26:01] we
[00:26:01] are
[00:26:01] able
[00:26:01] to
[00:26:02] study
[00:26:02] by
[00:26:02] means
[00:26:02] of
[00:26:03] our
[00:26:03] intellect
[00:26:03] is
[00:26:04] the
[00:26:04] lower
[00:26:04] one
[00:26:05] the
[00:26:05] world
[00:26:06] below
[00:26:06] the
[00:26:07] expression
[00:26:08] of
[00:26:08] that
[00:26:08] higher
[00:26:08] and
[00:26:09] spiritual
[00:26:09] world
[00:26:10] thus
[00:26:11] the
[00:26:11] occultist
[00:26:12] looking
[00:26:12] upon
[00:26:13] this
[00:26:15] nothing
[00:26:16] final
[00:26:16] but
[00:26:16] rather
[00:26:17] a
[00:26:17] kind
[00:26:17] of
[00:26:17] physiognomy
[00:26:18] which
[00:26:19] he
[00:26:19] recognizes
[00:26:20] as
[00:26:20] the
[00:26:20] expression
[00:26:21] of
[00:26:21] a
[00:26:21] world
[00:26:21] of
[00:26:22] soul
[00:26:22] and
[00:26:22] spirit
[00:26:23] just
[00:26:24] as
[00:26:24] when
[00:26:24] you
[00:26:24] gaze
[00:26:24] upon
[00:26:25] a
[00:26:25] human
[00:26:25] countenance
[00:26:26] you
[00:26:26] may
[00:26:26] not
[00:26:26] stop
[00:26:27] at
[00:26:27] the
[00:26:27] form
[00:26:27] of
[00:26:27] it
[00:26:28] the
[00:26:28] form
[00:26:29] of
[00:26:29] the
[00:26:29] face
[00:26:29] and
[00:26:29] the
[00:26:30] gestures
[00:26:30] paying
[00:26:31] attention
[00:26:31] only
[00:26:31] to
[00:26:31] them
[00:26:32] but
[00:26:32] must
[00:26:32] pass
[00:26:33] as a
[00:26:33] matter
[00:26:33] of
[00:26:34] course
[00:26:34] from
[00:26:34] the
[00:26:34] physiognomy
[00:26:35] and
[00:26:35] the
[00:26:35] gestures
[00:26:36] to
[00:26:36] the
[00:26:37] spiritual
[00:26:37] element
[00:26:38] which
[00:26:38] is
[00:26:38] expressed
[00:26:39] in
[00:26:39] them
[00:26:39] and
[00:26:39] I'm
[00:26:39] going
[00:26:40] to
[00:26:40] pause
[00:26:40] for
[00:26:40] a
[00:26:40] moment
[00:26:40] there
[00:26:41] folks
[00:26:41] so
[00:26:42] essentially
[00:26:42] once
[00:26:43] again
[00:26:43] we
[00:26:43] see
[00:26:43] here
[00:26:44] there's
[00:26:44] a
[00:26:44] world
[00:26:44] of
[00:26:44] causation
[00:26:45] which
[00:26:46] is
[00:26:46] primarily
[00:26:47] a
[00:26:47] spiritual
[00:26:48] world
[00:26:48] around
[00:26:49] us
[00:26:49] which
[00:26:50] underlies
[00:26:50] all
[00:26:51] of
[00:26:51] this
[00:26:51] stuff
[00:26:51] so
[00:26:52] this
[00:26:52] is
[00:26:53] an
[00:26:53] important
[00:26:53] distinction
[00:26:53] and
[00:26:54] Steiner
[00:26:54] calls
[00:26:55] it
[00:26:55] an
[00:26:55] axiom
[00:26:56] of
[00:26:56] the
[00:26:56] hermetic
[00:26:57] thought
[00:26:57] and
[00:26:58] he
[00:27:08] causation
[00:27:09] and
[00:27:10] this
[00:27:10] physical
[00:27:11] world
[00:27:11] is
[00:27:11] the
[00:27:12] lower
[00:27:12] world
[00:27:12] the
[00:27:12] world
[00:27:13] in
[00:27:13] which
[00:27:13] we
[00:27:13] can
[00:27:14] experience
[00:27:14] the
[00:27:15] effects
[00:27:16] of
[00:27:17] that
[00:27:17] causation
[00:27:17] here
[00:27:18] so
[00:27:18] that's
[00:27:19] what
[00:27:19] we
[00:27:19] sense
[00:27:19] with
[00:27:19] our
[00:27:19] five
[00:27:20] senses
[00:27:20] so
[00:27:21] let's
[00:27:21] continue
[00:27:22] reading
[00:27:23] what
[00:27:24] every
[00:27:24] person
[00:27:24] does
[00:27:24] instinctively
[00:27:25] when
[00:27:25] confronted
[00:27:26] by
[00:27:26] any
[00:27:26] being
[00:27:27] possessed
[00:27:27] of
[00:27:27] a
[00:27:27] soul
[00:27:28] is
[00:27:28] what
[00:27:29] the
[00:27:29] occultist
[00:27:29] or
[00:27:29] spiritual
[00:27:30] scientist
[00:27:30] does
[00:27:31] in
[00:27:31] respect
[00:27:31] of
[00:27:32] the
[00:27:32] entire
[00:27:32] world
[00:27:33] and
[00:27:34] as
[00:27:34] above
[00:27:34] so
[00:27:35] below
[00:27:35] would
[00:27:36] when
[00:27:37] referring to
[00:27:37] man
[00:27:37] be
[00:27:38] thus
[00:27:38] explained
[00:27:39] every
[00:27:40] impulse
[00:27:41] animating
[00:27:41] his
[00:27:41] soul
[00:27:42] is
[00:27:42] expressed
[00:27:43] in
[00:27:43] his
[00:27:43] face
[00:27:44] a
[00:27:45] hard
[00:27:46] and
[00:27:46] coarse
[00:27:46] countenance
[00:27:47] expresses
[00:27:47] coarseness
[00:27:48] of
[00:27:48] soul
[00:27:48] a
[00:27:49] smile
[00:27:50] tells
[00:27:50] of
[00:27:50] inward
[00:27:50] joy
[00:27:51] a
[00:27:52] tear
[00:27:52] betrays
[00:27:52] a
[00:27:53] suffering
[00:27:53] soul
[00:27:54] I
[00:27:54] will
[00:27:55] here
[00:27:55] apply
[00:27:55] the
[00:27:55] hermetic
[00:27:56] axiom
[00:27:56] to
[00:27:57] the
[00:27:57] question
[00:27:57] what
[00:27:58] actually
[00:27:58] constitutes
[00:27:59] wisdom
[00:28:00] spiritual
[00:28:01] science
[00:28:02] has
[00:28:02] always
[00:28:02] maintained
[00:28:03] that
[00:28:03] human
[00:28:03] wisdom
[00:28:04] has
[00:28:04] something
[00:28:04] to
[00:28:05] do
[00:28:05] with
[00:28:05] experience
[00:28:06] and
[00:28:06] that
[00:28:07] painful
[00:28:07] experience
[00:28:08] he
[00:28:09] who
[00:28:09] is
[00:28:10] actually
[00:28:10] in
[00:28:10] the
[00:28:11] throes
[00:28:11] of
[00:28:11] suffering
[00:28:11] manifests
[00:28:12] in
[00:28:12] this
[00:28:13] suffering
[00:28:13] something
[00:28:14] that
[00:28:14] is
[00:28:14] an
[00:28:15] inward
[00:28:15] lack
[00:28:15] of
[00:28:16] harmony
[00:28:16] he
[00:28:17] however
[00:28:17] who
[00:28:18] has
[00:28:18] overcome
[00:28:19] the
[00:28:19] pain
[00:28:19] and
[00:28:19] suffering
[00:28:20] and
[00:28:20] bears
[00:28:20] their
[00:28:20] fruits
[00:28:21] within
[00:28:21] him
[00:28:21] will
[00:28:22] always
[00:28:23] tell
[00:28:23] you
[00:28:23] that
[00:28:23] through
[00:28:24] suffering
[00:28:24] he
[00:28:25] has
[00:28:25] gained
[00:28:25] some
[00:28:25] measure
[00:28:26] of
[00:28:26] wisdom
[00:28:27] the
[00:28:28] joys
[00:28:28] and
[00:28:29] pleasures
[00:28:29] of
[00:28:29] life
[00:28:29] all
[00:28:30] that
[00:28:30] life
[00:28:31] can
[00:28:31] offer
[00:28:31] me
[00:28:31] in
[00:28:31] the
[00:28:32] way
[00:28:32] of
[00:28:32] satisfaction
[00:28:33] all
[00:28:33] these
[00:28:34] things
[00:28:34] do
[00:28:34] I
[00:28:34] receive
[00:28:35] gratefully
[00:28:35] yet
[00:28:36] were
[00:28:37] I
[00:28:37] far
[00:28:37] more
[00:28:38] loath
[00:28:38] to
[00:28:39] part
[00:28:39] with
[00:28:40] my
[00:28:40] past
[00:28:40] pain
[00:28:40] and
[00:28:41] suffering
[00:28:41] than
[00:28:42] with
[00:28:42] those
[00:28:42] pleasant
[00:28:43] gifts
[00:28:43] of
[00:28:44] life
[00:28:44] for
[00:28:44] it
[00:28:45] is
[00:28:45] to
[00:28:45] my
[00:28:46] pain
[00:28:46] and
[00:28:46] suffering
[00:28:47] that
[00:28:47] I
[00:28:47] owe
[00:28:48] my
[00:28:48] wisdom
[00:28:48] and
[00:28:49] so
[00:28:50] it
[00:28:50] is
[00:28:50] that
[00:28:50] in
[00:28:51] wisdom
[00:28:51] occult
[00:28:51] science
[00:28:52] has
[00:28:52] ever
[00:28:52] recognized
[00:28:53] what
[00:28:53] may
[00:28:54] be
[00:28:54] called
[00:28:54] crystallized
[00:28:55] pain
[00:28:56] pain
[00:28:57] that
[00:28:57] has
[00:28:58] been
[00:28:58] conquered
[00:28:58] and
[00:28:59] thus
[00:28:59] changed
[00:28:59] into
[00:29:00] its
[00:29:00] opposite
[00:29:01] and
[00:29:01] I'm
[00:29:01] going
[00:29:01] to
[00:29:02] pause
[00:29:02] for
[00:29:02] a
[00:29:02] second
[00:29:02] there
[00:29:03] folks
[00:29:03] this
[00:29:04] would
[00:29:04] be
[00:29:04] what
[00:29:05] we
[00:29:05] refer
[00:29:05] to
[00:29:05] as
[00:29:06] spiritual
[00:29:07] alchemy
[00:29:07] turning
[00:29:08] the
[00:29:08] bad
[00:29:09] into
[00:29:09] good
[00:29:09] transmuting
[00:29:10] the
[00:29:11] bad
[00:29:11] into
[00:29:11] something
[00:29:11] good
[00:29:12] so
[00:29:14] that's
[00:29:14] what
[00:29:14] Steiner
[00:29:15] is
[00:29:15] saying
[00:29:15] here
[00:29:16] let's
[00:29:17] continue
[00:29:17] reading
[00:29:17] though
[00:29:18] because
[00:29:18] we
[00:29:18] still
[00:29:18] got
[00:29:18] a lot
[00:29:19] more
[00:29:19] to
[00:29:19] cover
[00:29:19] and
[00:29:20] we
[00:29:20] haven't
[00:29:20] even
[00:29:20] gotten
[00:29:21] to
[00:29:21] the
[00:29:21] important
[00:29:22] points
[00:29:22] here
[00:29:23] yet
[00:29:23] it
[00:29:24] is
[00:29:24] interesting
[00:29:24] to
[00:29:40] the
[00:29:41] human
[00:29:41] soul
[00:29:41] the
[00:29:42] author
[00:29:42] endeavors
[00:29:43] to
[00:29:43] show
[00:29:43] how
[00:29:44] the
[00:29:44] inner
[00:29:44] life
[00:29:44] of
[00:29:44] man
[00:29:45] his
[00:29:45] way
[00:29:45] of
[00:29:46] thinking
[00:29:46] as
[00:29:46] it
[00:29:46] were
[00:29:47] impresses
[00:29:48] itself
[00:29:48] on
[00:29:48] his
[00:29:48] physiognomy
[00:29:49] this
[00:29:50] student
[00:29:51] of
[00:29:51] human
[00:29:51] nature
[00:29:52] draws
[00:29:52] attention
[00:29:52] to
[00:29:53] the
[00:29:53] fact
[00:29:53] that
[00:29:53] there
[00:29:54] is
[00:29:54] always
[00:29:54] something
[00:29:55] in
[00:29:55] the
[00:29:55] expression
[00:29:55] on
[00:29:56] the
[00:29:56] face
[00:29:56] of
[00:29:56] a
[00:29:56] thinker
[00:29:57] which
[00:29:57] is
[00:29:58] suggestive
[00:29:58] of
[00:29:59] what
[00:29:59] one
[00:29:59] might
[00:29:59] describe
[00:30:00] as
[00:30:00] quote
[00:30:01] unquote
[00:30:01] absorbed
[00:30:02] pain
[00:30:04] thus
[00:30:04] you
[00:30:04] see
[00:30:05] that
[00:30:05] this
[00:30:06] principle
[00:30:06] comes
[00:30:06] to
[00:30:07] light
[00:30:07] again
[00:30:07] in
[00:30:07] the
[00:30:08] more
[00:30:08] materialistic
[00:30:08] view
[00:30:09] of
[00:30:09] our
[00:30:09] own
[00:30:09] day
[00:30:10] a
[00:30:10] brilliant
[00:30:11] confirmation
[00:30:11] of
[00:30:12] that
[00:30:12] immemorial
[00:30:13] axiom
[00:30:13] of
[00:30:13] spiritual
[00:30:14] science
[00:30:14] you
[00:30:15] will
[00:30:15] become
[00:30:15] more
[00:30:16] and more
[00:30:16] deeply
[00:30:16] sensible
[00:30:17] of
[00:30:17] this
[00:30:18] and
[00:30:18] you
[00:30:18] will
[00:30:18] find
[00:30:19] that
[00:30:19] gradually
[00:30:19] point
[00:30:20] for
[00:30:20] point
[00:30:20] the
[00:30:20] ancient
[00:30:21] wisdom
[00:30:21] will
[00:30:21] reappear
[00:30:22] in
[00:30:22] the
[00:30:22] science
[00:30:23] of
[00:30:23] modern
[00:30:24] times
[00:30:24] and
[00:30:25] I'm
[00:30:25] going
[00:30:25] to
[00:30:25] pause
[00:30:25] for a
[00:30:25] second
[00:30:26] there
[00:30:26] folks
[00:30:26] what
[00:30:27] do
[00:30:27] we
[00:30:27] see
[00:30:28] occurring
[00:30:28] in
[00:30:28] modern
[00:30:29] times
[00:30:29] well
[00:30:30] we
[00:30:30] are
[00:30:30] certainly
[00:30:30] seeing
[00:30:31] some
[00:30:31] of
[00:30:31] these
[00:30:31] old
[00:30:32] natural
[00:30:32] sciences
[00:30:33] making
[00:30:34] a
[00:30:34] comeback
[00:30:34] don't
[00:30:35] we
[00:30:47] that's
[00:30:47] truly
[00:30:47] going
[00:30:48] on
[00:30:49] it's
[00:30:50] something
[00:30:50] that
[00:30:51] we
[00:30:51] need
[00:30:51] to
[00:30:51] pay
[00:30:52] close
[00:30:52] attention
[00:30:52] to
[00:30:53] because
[00:30:53] many
[00:30:54] of
[00:30:55] these
[00:30:56] things
[00:30:56] they're
[00:30:56] doing
[00:30:57] in
[00:30:57] the
[00:30:57] name
[00:30:57] of
[00:30:57] science
[00:30:58] go
[00:30:59] against
[00:31:00] the
[00:31:00] old
[00:31:00] natural
[00:31:01] sciences
[00:31:01] the
[00:31:01] old
[00:31:02] alchemical
[00:31:02] sciences
[00:31:03] these
[00:31:04] ancient
[00:31:04] knowledges
[00:31:05] that have
[00:31:05] been
[00:31:05] brought
[00:31:05] forward
[00:31:06] and
[00:31:06] manipulated
[00:31:07] and
[00:31:07] twisted
[00:31:08] in
[00:31:08] many
[00:31:08] ways
[00:31:08] and
[00:31:09] that's
[00:31:10] the
[00:31:10] problem
[00:31:10] you see
[00:31:11] there are
[00:31:12] those
[00:31:12] in this
[00:31:12] world
[00:31:12] that
[00:31:13] will
[00:31:13] misuse
[00:31:14] this
[00:31:14] type
[00:31:14] of
[00:31:14] knowledge
[00:31:15] and
[00:31:16] misuse
[00:31:16] this
[00:31:17] type
[00:31:17] of
[00:31:17] understanding
[00:31:18] of
[00:31:19] natural
[00:31:20] sciences
[00:31:21] and
[00:31:22] we
[00:31:23] are
[00:31:23] largely
[00:31:24] as a
[00:31:24] society
[00:31:25] unprepared
[00:31:26] ourselves
[00:31:27] to be
[00:31:28] able to
[00:31:30] handle
[00:31:30] that
[00:31:31] because
[00:31:31] we
[00:31:31] don't
[00:31:32] understand
[00:31:32] them
[00:31:32] ourselves
[00:31:33] and
[00:31:33] a lot
[00:31:33] of
[00:31:33] this
[00:31:34] has
[00:31:34] to
[00:31:34] do
[00:31:34] with
[00:31:35] the
[00:31:35] secrecy
[00:31:35] that's
[00:31:36] been
[00:31:36] upheld
[00:31:36] by
[00:31:36] these
[00:31:37] secret
[00:31:37] brotherhoods
[00:31:38] down
[00:31:38] through
[00:31:38] the
[00:31:38] ages
[00:31:39] they've
[00:31:40] kept
[00:31:40] this
[00:31:40] knowledge
[00:31:41] hidden
[00:31:41] from
[00:31:41] us
[00:31:41] they've
[00:31:42] done
[00:31:42] so
[00:31:42] on
[00:31:42] purpose
[00:31:43] to
[00:31:43] maintain
[00:31:43] some
[00:31:44] modicum
[00:31:44] of
[00:31:44] control
[00:31:45] over
[00:31:45] it
[00:31:46] they
[00:31:46] don't
[00:31:47] like
[00:31:47] it
[00:31:47] when
[00:31:48] we
[00:31:48] start
[00:31:48] looking
[00:31:49] at
[00:31:49] this
[00:31:49] stuff
[00:31:49] and
[00:31:50] garnering
[00:31:51] an
[00:31:51] understanding
[00:31:52] of
[00:31:52] it
[00:31:52] they would
[00:31:52] like
[00:31:52] us
[00:31:53] to
[00:31:53] think
[00:31:53] of
[00:31:53] it
[00:31:53] as
[00:31:53] silly
[00:31:54] nonsense
[00:31:55] which
[00:31:55] it is
[00:31:56] not
[00:31:56] and
[00:32:16] not
[00:32:18] to
[00:32:18] make
[00:32:20] it
[00:32:22] this
[00:32:23] is
[00:32:23] a
[00:32:24] technology
[00:32:24] built
[00:32:24] upon
[00:32:25] destructive
[00:32:26] forces
[00:32:26] rather
[00:32:27] than
[00:32:27] creative
[00:32:28] forces
[00:32:28] so
[00:32:29] rather
[00:32:29] than
[00:32:30] working
[00:32:30] with
[00:32:30] nature
[00:32:31] it
[00:32:31] works
[00:32:31] contrary
[00:32:32] to
[00:32:32] nature
[00:32:33] and
[00:32:33] is
[00:32:34] a
[00:32:34] destructive
[00:32:34] force
[00:32:35] and
[00:32:35] this
[00:32:35] is
[00:32:35] much
[00:32:36] of
[00:32:36] what
[00:32:36] our
[00:32:36] technologies
[00:32:37] in
[00:32:37] the
[00:32:37] modern
[00:32:37] era
[00:32:38] are
[00:32:38] based
[00:32:38] on
[00:32:39] rather
[00:32:39] than
[00:32:39] the
[00:32:49] occult
[00:32:49] investigation
[00:32:50] shows
[00:32:50] decisively
[00:32:51] that
[00:32:51] all
[00:32:51] the
[00:32:52] things
[00:32:52] which
[00:32:52] surround
[00:32:52] us
[00:32:53] in
[00:32:53] this
[00:32:53] world
[00:32:55] should
[00:32:58] be
[00:32:58] regarded
[00:32:58] as
[00:32:59] the
[00:32:59] physiognomical
[00:33:00] expression
[00:33:00] or
[00:33:01] the
[00:33:01] below
[00:33:02] of
[00:33:03] an
[00:33:03] above
[00:33:03] or
[00:33:04] spirit
[00:33:04] life
[00:33:04] lying
[00:33:05] behind
[00:33:05] them
[00:33:06] from
[00:33:07] the
[00:33:07] point
[00:33:07] of
[00:33:07] view
[00:33:07] taken
[00:33:08] by
[00:33:08] occultism
[00:33:09] the
[00:33:09] things
[00:33:10] presented
[00:33:10] to
[00:33:10] us
[00:33:10] in
[00:33:11] the
[00:33:11] sense
[00:33:11] world
[00:33:11] can
[00:33:12] only
[00:33:12] be
[00:33:13] rightly
[00:33:13] understood
[00:33:13] if
[00:33:14] our
[00:33:14] knowledge
[00:33:14] includes
[00:33:15] cognition
[00:33:15] of
[00:33:16] the
[00:33:16] above
[00:33:17] the
[00:33:17] spiritual
[00:33:18] archetype
[00:33:19] the
[00:33:19] original
[00:33:20] spiritual
[00:33:20] beings
[00:33:21] whence
[00:33:22] all
[00:33:22] things
[00:33:22] manifest
[00:33:23] have
[00:33:23] proceeded
[00:33:24] and
[00:33:25] for
[00:33:25] this
[00:33:25] reason
[00:33:25] we
[00:33:26] will
[00:33:26] today
[00:33:26] apply
[00:33:27] our
[00:33:27] minds
[00:33:27] to
[00:33:28] a
[00:33:28] study
[00:33:28] of
[00:33:28] that
[00:33:29] which
[00:33:29] lies
[00:33:29] concealed
[00:33:30] behind
[00:33:31] the
[00:33:31] phenomenon
[00:33:31] of
[00:33:32] the
[00:33:33] blood
[00:33:33] that
[00:33:34] which
[00:33:34] shaped
[00:33:34] for
[00:33:35] itself
[00:33:35] in
[00:33:35] the
[00:33:36] blood
[00:33:36] is
[00:33:36] physiognomical
[00:33:37] expression
[00:33:38] in
[00:33:38] the
[00:33:38] world
[00:33:39] of
[00:33:39] sense
[00:33:39] when
[00:33:40] once
[00:33:41] you
[00:33:41] understand
[00:33:41] this
[00:33:42] spiritual
[00:33:42] background
[00:33:43] of
[00:33:44] blood
[00:33:44] you
[00:33:45] will
[00:33:45] be
[00:33:45] able
[00:33:45] to
[00:33:45] realize
[00:33:46] how
[00:33:47] the
[00:33:47] knowledge
[00:33:47] of
[00:33:47] such
[00:33:48] matters
[00:33:48] is
[00:33:49] bound
[00:33:49] to
[00:33:49] react
[00:33:50] upon
[00:33:50] the
[00:33:50] whole
[00:33:51] mental
[00:33:51] outlook
[00:33:52] of
[00:33:52] life
[00:33:54] questions
[00:33:54] of
[00:33:55] great
[00:33:55] importance
[00:33:55] are
[00:34:12] to
[00:34:14] as
[00:34:28] soon
[00:34:32] as
[00:34:32] we
[00:34:32] recognize
[00:34:33] the
[00:34:33] nature
[00:34:34] of
[00:34:35] the
[00:34:35] spiritual
[00:34:35] essence
[00:34:36] which
[00:34:36] lies
[00:34:37] at
[00:34:37] the
[00:34:37] back
[00:34:38] of
[00:34:38] our
[00:34:38] blood
[00:34:39] who
[00:34:40] can
[00:34:40] deny
[00:34:40] that
[00:34:41] this
[00:34:41] question
[00:34:42] is
[00:34:42] closely
[00:34:42] linked
[00:34:42] to
[00:34:43] that
[00:34:43] of
[00:34:43] race
[00:34:44] which
[00:34:44] at
[00:34:44] the
[00:34:45] present
[00:34:45] time
[00:34:45] is
[00:34:46] once
[00:34:46] more
[00:34:46] coming
[00:34:47] markedly
[00:34:48] to
[00:34:48] the
[00:34:48] front
[00:34:48] yet
[00:34:49] this
[00:34:50] question
[00:34:50] of
[00:34:50] race
[00:34:51] is
[00:34:51] one
[00:34:51] that
[00:34:52] we
[00:34:52] can
[00:34:52] never
[00:34:52] understand
[00:34:53] until
[00:34:53] we
[00:34:54] understand
[00:34:54] the
[00:34:55] mysteries
[00:34:55] of
[00:34:56] the
[00:34:56] blood
[00:34:56] and
[00:34:57] the
[00:34:57] results
[00:34:57] accruing
[00:34:58] from
[00:34:58] the
[00:34:59] mingling
[00:34:59] of
[00:35:00] the
[00:35:00] blood
[00:35:00] of
[00:35:00] different
[00:35:00] races
[00:35:01] and
[00:35:02] finally
[00:35:02] there
[00:35:02] is
[00:35:03] yet
[00:35:03] one
[00:35:03] other
[00:35:04] question
[00:35:04] the
[00:35:05] importance
[00:35:05] of
[00:35:05] which
[00:35:05] is
[00:35:06] becoming
[00:35:06] more
[00:35:06] and
[00:35:06] more
[00:35:06] acute
[00:35:07] as
[00:35:07] we
[00:35:08] endeavor
[00:35:08] to
[00:35:08] extricate
[00:35:09] ourselves
[00:35:09] from
[00:35:10] the
[00:35:10] hitherto
[00:35:10] aimless
[00:35:11] methods
[00:35:11] of
[00:35:11] dealing
[00:35:12] with
[00:35:12] it
[00:35:12] and
[00:35:13] seek
[00:35:13] to
[00:35:13] approach
[00:35:13] it
[00:35:14] in
[00:35:14] its
[00:35:14] more
[00:35:15] comprehensive
[00:35:15] bearings
[00:35:16] the
[00:35:17] problem
[00:35:17] is
[00:35:17] that
[00:35:18] of
[00:35:18] colonization
[00:35:19] which
[00:35:19] crops
[00:35:19] up
[00:35:20] wherever
[00:35:20] civilized
[00:35:21] races
[00:35:21] come
[00:35:22] into
[00:35:22] contact
[00:35:23] with
[00:35:23] the
[00:35:23] uncivilized
[00:35:24] gonna
[00:35:25] pause
[00:35:25] for a
[00:35:26] moment
[00:35:26] there
[00:35:26] folks
[00:35:26] remember
[00:35:27] this
[00:35:28] is
[00:35:28] written
[00:35:28] back
[00:35:29] in
[00:35:29] 1912
[00:35:30] and
[00:35:31] this
[00:35:32] was
[00:35:32] Steiner
[00:35:34] saying
[00:35:34] this
[00:35:38] about
[00:35:38] race
[00:35:39] comes
[00:35:39] directly
[00:35:39] from
[00:35:40] the
[00:35:40] Rosicrucian
[00:35:41] teachings
[00:35:41] so
[00:35:42] keep
[00:35:42] that
[00:35:43] in
[00:35:43] mind
[00:35:43] so
[00:35:43] when
[00:35:43] they're
[00:35:44] talking
[00:35:44] about
[00:35:44] colonization
[00:35:46] and
[00:35:46] the
[00:35:46] uncivilized
[00:35:47] peoples
[00:35:48] well
[00:35:49] they're
[00:35:49] not
[00:35:49] really
[00:35:49] necessarily
[00:35:50] saying
[00:35:51] uncivilized
[00:35:52] this
[00:35:52] was
[00:35:52] the
[00:35:52] perspective
[00:35:53] of
[00:35:53] the
[00:35:53] time
[00:35:54] when
[00:35:54] Steiner
[00:35:55] wrote
[00:35:55] this
[00:35:56] this
[00:35:56] is
[00:35:57] all
[00:35:57] about
[00:35:57] the
[00:35:58] mixing
[00:35:58] of
[00:35:59] racial
[00:35:59] blood
[00:36:00] types
[00:36:00] and
[00:36:01] blood
[00:36:01] lines
[00:36:01] and
[00:36:01] things
[00:36:02] like
[00:36:02] that
[00:36:02] and
[00:36:03] this
[00:36:03] is
[00:36:03] something
[00:36:03] that
[00:36:03] the
[00:36:04] elite
[00:36:04] are
[00:36:05] hugely
[00:36:05] hung up
[00:36:06] on
[00:36:08] and
[00:36:09] we're
[00:36:09] going
[00:36:09] to
[00:36:09] get
[00:36:10] to
[00:36:10] the
[00:36:10] foundation
[00:36:10] as
[00:36:11] to
[00:36:11] why
[00:36:11] here
[00:36:12] as
[00:36:12] we
[00:36:12] go
[00:36:13] and
[00:36:13] why
[00:36:14] they
[00:36:14] see
[00:36:14] it
[00:36:14] as
[00:36:14] being
[00:36:15] important
[00:36:15] here
[00:36:15] the
[00:36:16] whole
[00:36:16] mixing
[00:36:17] of
[00:36:17] the
[00:36:17] blood
[00:36:18] so
[00:36:18] keep
[00:36:19] that
[00:36:19] in
[00:36:19] mind
[00:36:19] as
[00:36:20] we
[00:36:20] read
[00:36:21] on
[00:36:21] here
[00:36:21] and
[00:36:22] the
[00:36:22] intention
[00:36:23] here
[00:36:23] is
[00:36:23] not
[00:36:23] to
[00:36:23] offend
[00:36:24] anyone
[00:36:24] just
[00:36:25] in
[00:36:25] case
[00:36:25] you're
[00:36:26] wondering
[00:36:26] I'm
[00:36:27] just
[00:36:27] telling
[00:36:27] you
[00:36:28] this
[00:36:28] is
[00:36:28] what
[00:36:28] Steiner
[00:36:29] wrote
[00:36:29] this
[00:36:29] is
[00:36:29] directly
[00:36:30] from
[00:36:30] his
[00:36:30] lecture
[00:36:30] not
[00:36:31] me
[00:36:31] saying
[00:36:31] this
[00:36:31] but
[00:36:32] this
[00:36:32] is
[00:36:32] what
[00:36:32] they
[00:36:33] teach
[00:36:33] within
[00:36:33] the
[00:36:34] secret
[00:36:34] schools
[00:36:34] this
[00:36:35] is
[00:36:35] what
[00:36:36] they
[00:36:36] teach
[00:36:36] within
[00:36:36] the
[00:36:37] different
[00:36:37] levels
[00:36:37] of
[00:36:38] the
[00:36:38] power
[00:36:38] structure
[00:36:39] at
[00:36:39] the
[00:36:39] top
[00:36:39] most
[00:36:39] levels
[00:36:40] these
[00:36:40] people
[00:36:41] that
[00:36:41] are
[00:36:41] really
[00:36:41] running
[00:36:41] things
[00:36:42] today
[00:36:42] these
[00:36:43] dark
[00:36:43] occultists
[00:36:44] who
[00:36:44] run
[00:36:44] things
[00:36:44] this
[00:36:45] is
[00:37:01] wonder
[00:37:02] why
[00:37:03] there's
[00:37:03] racism
[00:37:04] in
[00:37:04] the
[00:37:04] world
[00:37:04] right
[00:37:05] well
[00:37:06] it's
[00:37:07] only
[00:37:07] at
[00:37:08] the
[00:37:08] touch
[00:37:08] of
[00:37:08] a
[00:37:08] button
[00:37:09] by
[00:37:09] these
[00:37:09] people
[00:37:09] in
[00:37:10] positions
[00:37:10] of
[00:37:10] power
[00:37:11] that
[00:37:11] racism
[00:37:12] is
[00:37:12] even
[00:37:12] a
[00:37:12] thing
[00:37:13] today
[00:37:14] think
[00:37:14] about
[00:37:14] that
[00:37:15] it's
[00:37:16] true
[00:37:16] they're
[00:37:16] the
[00:37:16] ones
[00:37:16] that
[00:37:17] keep
[00:37:17] promoting
[00:37:17] and
[00:37:18] using
[00:37:18] this
[00:37:18] as
[00:37:19] a
[00:37:19] control
[00:37:19] motif
[00:37:20] the
[00:37:21] whole
[00:37:21] race
[00:37:21] card
[00:37:22] idea
[00:37:23] and
[00:37:24] they
[00:37:24] keep
[00:37:25] recycling
[00:37:25] it
[00:37:26] over
[00:37:26] and
[00:37:26] over
[00:37:26] and
[00:37:26] there's
[00:37:26] a
[00:37:27] reason
[00:37:27] for
[00:37:27] this
[00:37:27] and
[00:37:27] it
[00:37:27] has
[00:37:28] everything
[00:37:28] to do
[00:37:28] with
[00:37:29] blood
[00:37:30] with
[00:37:31] the
[00:37:31] ideology
[00:37:31] of
[00:37:32] blood
[00:37:33] from
[00:37:33] the
[00:37:33] secret
[00:37:34] schools
[00:37:34] and
[00:37:34] the
[00:37:34] spiritual
[00:37:35] connotations
[00:37:35] thereof
[00:37:36] so
[00:37:36] let's
[00:37:37] read
[00:37:37] on
[00:37:37] here
[00:37:38] so
[00:37:39] Steiner
[00:37:39] goes
[00:37:40] on
[00:37:40] to
[00:37:40] question
[00:37:40] here
[00:37:41] he
[00:37:41] says
[00:37:41] how
[00:37:42] can
[00:37:42] a
[00:37:42] negro
[00:37:42] or
[00:37:43] an
[00:37:43] utterly
[00:37:43] barbaric
[00:37:44] savage
[00:37:44] become
[00:37:45] civilized
[00:37:46] and
[00:37:46] in
[00:37:46] what
[00:37:47] way
[00:37:47] ought
[00:37:47] we
[00:37:48] to
[00:37:48] deal
[00:37:48] with
[00:37:48] them
[00:37:49] and
[00:37:49] here
[00:37:50] we
[00:37:50] have
[00:37:50] to
[00:37:50] consider
[00:37:51] not
[00:37:51] only
[00:37:51] the
[00:37:51] feelings
[00:37:52] due
[00:37:52] to
[00:37:52] a
[00:37:52] morality
[00:37:53] but
[00:37:54] we
[00:37:54] are
[00:37:54] also
[00:37:55] confronted
[00:37:55] by
[00:37:56] great
[00:37:56] serious
[00:37:56] and
[00:37:57] vital
[00:37:57] problems
[00:37:58] of
[00:37:58] the
[00:37:58] very
[00:37:58] fact
[00:37:59] of
[00:37:59] existence
[00:38:00] itself
[00:38:00] those
[00:38:01] who
[00:38:01] are
[00:38:02] not
[00:38:02] aware
[00:38:02] of
[00:38:02] the
[00:38:02] conditions
[00:38:03] governing
[00:38:03] a
[00:38:04] people
[00:38:04] whether
[00:38:04] it
[00:38:04] be
[00:38:05] on
[00:38:05] the
[00:38:06] up
[00:38:06] or
[00:38:06] down
[00:38:07] grade
[00:38:07] of
[00:38:07] its
[00:38:07] evolution
[00:38:08] and
[00:38:09] whether
[00:38:09] the
[00:38:09] one
[00:38:09] or
[00:38:10] the
[00:38:10] other
[00:38:10] is
[00:38:10] a
[00:38:10] matter
[00:38:11] of
[00:38:11] that
[00:38:12] is
[00:38:12] conditioned
[00:38:12] by
[00:38:13] its
[00:38:13] blood
[00:38:13] such
[00:38:14] people
[00:38:14] as
[00:38:15] these
[00:38:15] will
[00:38:15] indeed
[00:38:16] be
[00:38:16] unlikely
[00:38:16] to
[00:38:17] hit
[00:38:17] on
[00:38:17] the
[00:38:17] right
[00:38:18] mode
[00:38:18] of
[00:38:18] introducing
[00:38:19] civilization
[00:38:19] to
[00:38:20] an
[00:38:20] alien
[00:38:25] as
[00:38:25] soon
[00:38:25] as
[00:38:26] the
[00:38:26] blood
[00:38:26] question
[00:38:27] is
[00:38:27] touched
[00:38:27] upon
[00:38:28] and
[00:38:28] I'm
[00:38:28] going
[00:38:28] to
[00:38:28] pause
[00:38:28] for
[00:38:28] a
[00:38:29] second
[00:38:29] there
[00:38:29] and
[00:38:30] special
[00:38:31] note
[00:38:31] here
[00:38:31] folks
[00:38:32] the
[00:38:33] words
[00:38:33] blood
[00:38:33] question
[00:38:34] are
[00:38:35] capitalized
[00:38:36] here
[00:38:36] so
[00:38:37] this
[00:38:37] is
[00:38:37] an
[00:38:37] important
[00:38:38] concept
[00:38:38] to
[00:38:39] the
[00:38:39] secret
[00:38:39] schools
[00:38:40] blood
[00:38:41] question
[00:38:41] the
[00:38:42] B
[00:38:42] in
[00:38:42] blood
[00:38:43] is
[00:38:43] capitalized
[00:38:43] the
[00:38:43] Q
[00:38:44] in
[00:38:44] question
[00:38:44] is
[00:38:45] capitalized
[00:38:45] it's
[00:38:46] an
[00:38:46] important
[00:38:46] idea
[00:38:47] keep
[00:38:48] that
[00:38:48] in
[00:38:48] mind
[00:38:49] as
[00:39:23] the
[00:39:25] blood
[00:39:25] which
[00:39:26] is
[00:39:26] presented
[00:39:26] to
[00:39:26] the
[00:39:27] in
[00:39:27] streaming
[00:39:27] oxygen
[00:39:28] is
[00:39:28] a
[00:39:28] kind
[00:39:28] of
[00:39:29] poison
[00:39:29] to
[00:39:29] the
[00:39:30] organism
[00:39:30] a
[00:39:31] kind
[00:39:31] of
[00:39:31] destroyer
[00:39:32] and
[00:39:32] demolisher
[00:39:33] but
[00:39:33] through
[00:39:34] the
[00:39:34] absorption
[00:39:34] of
[00:39:35] the
[00:39:35] oxygen
[00:39:35] the
[00:39:36] blue
[00:39:36] red
[00:39:37] blood
[00:39:37] becomes
[00:39:38] transmuted
[00:39:38] by a
[00:39:39] process
[00:39:39] of
[00:39:39] combustion
[00:39:40] into
[00:39:40] red
[00:39:41] life-giving
[00:39:41] fluid
[00:39:42] this
[00:39:43] blood
[00:39:44] that
[00:39:44] finds
[00:39:45] its
[00:39:45] way
[00:39:45] to
[00:39:46] all
[00:39:46] parts
[00:39:46] of
[00:39:46] the
[00:39:46] body
[00:39:47] depositing
[00:39:48] everywhere
[00:39:48] its
[00:39:49] particles
[00:39:49] of
[00:39:50] nourishment
[00:39:50] has
[00:39:51] the
[00:39:51] task
[00:39:51] of
[00:39:51] directly
[00:39:52] assimilating
[00:39:53] the
[00:39:53] materials
[00:39:53] of
[00:39:54] the
[00:39:54] outer
[00:39:54] world
[00:39:55] and
[00:39:55] of
[00:39:55] applying
[00:39:56] them
[00:39:56] by
[00:39:56] the
[00:39:56] shortest
[00:39:57] method
[00:39:57] possible
[00:39:58] to
[00:39:58] the
[00:39:58] nourishment
[00:39:59] of
[00:39:59] the
[00:39:59] body
[00:39:59] it
[00:40:00] is
[00:40:00] necessary
[00:40:01] for
[00:40:01] man
[00:40:02] and
[00:40:02] the
[00:40:02] higher
[00:40:02] animals
[00:40:03] first
[00:40:03] to
[00:40:03] absorb
[00:40:04] such
[00:40:04] food
[00:40:05] stuffs
[00:40:05] into
[00:40:05] their
[00:40:06] blood
[00:40:06] then
[00:40:07] then
[00:40:07] having
[00:40:07] formed
[00:40:07] the
[00:40:08] blood
[00:40:08] to
[00:40:08] absorb
[00:40:09] oxygen
[00:40:09] from
[00:40:10] the
[00:40:10] oxygen
[00:40:10] into
[00:40:11] it
[00:40:11] and
[00:40:11] to
[00:40:12] build
[00:40:12] up
[00:40:12] and
[00:40:12] maintain
[00:40:13] the
[00:40:13] body
[00:40:13] by
[00:40:14] means
[00:40:14] of
[00:40:14] it
[00:40:14] one
[00:40:16] gifted
[00:40:16] with
[00:40:16] a
[00:40:16] knowledge
[00:40:17] of
[00:40:17] souls
[00:40:17] has
[00:40:18] without
[00:40:18] truth
[00:40:18] remarked
[00:40:19] quote
[00:40:19] the
[00:40:20] blood
[00:40:20] with
[00:40:20] its
[00:40:21] circulation
[00:40:21] is
[00:40:22] like
[00:40:22] a
[00:40:22] second
[00:40:22] being
[00:40:23] and
[00:40:24] in
[00:40:24] relation
[00:40:24] to
[00:40:25] the
[00:40:25] man
[00:40:25] of
[00:40:25] bone
[00:40:25] muscle
[00:40:26] and
[00:40:26] nerve
[00:40:27] acts
[00:40:27] like
[00:40:28] a
[00:40:28] kind
[00:40:28] of
[00:40:28] exterior
[00:40:29] world
[00:40:29] end
[00:40:30] quote
[00:40:30] for
[00:40:31] as
[00:40:31] a
[00:40:31] matter
[00:40:32] of
[00:40:32] fact
[00:40:32] the
[00:40:32] entire
[00:40:33] human
[00:40:33] being
[00:40:33] is
[00:40:33] continually
[00:40:34] drawing
[00:40:35] his
[00:40:35] sustenance
[00:40:35] from
[00:40:36] the
[00:40:36] blood
[00:40:36] and
[00:40:57] which
[00:40:57] Steiner
[00:40:57] uses
[00:40:58] here
[00:40:58] comparing
[00:40:59] blood
[00:41:00] the
[00:41:01] system
[00:41:01] of
[00:41:02] blood
[00:41:03] to
[00:41:04] being
[00:41:04] what
[00:41:05] he
[00:41:05] calls
[00:41:05] here
[00:41:06] a
[00:41:06] true
[00:41:07] double
[00:41:09] ever
[00:41:09] bearing
[00:41:10] him
[00:41:10] company
[00:41:10] to
[00:41:11] the
[00:41:11] man
[00:41:12] now
[00:41:13] you
[00:41:14] may
[00:41:14] have
[00:41:14] heard
[00:41:15] me
[00:41:15] speak
[00:41:15] in
[00:41:15] the
[00:41:15] past
[00:41:16] about
[00:41:16] what's
[00:41:17] called
[00:41:17] the
[00:41:17] doppelganger
[00:41:18] or
[00:41:19] the
[00:41:20] human
[00:41:20] double
[00:41:21] or
[00:41:21] the
[00:41:21] aramonic
[00:41:22] double
[00:41:24] this
[00:41:25] is
[00:41:25] essentially
[00:41:26] one
[00:41:27] of
[00:41:28] the
[00:41:28] concepts
[00:41:28] that
[00:41:29] Steiner
[00:41:30] is
[00:41:30] hinting
[00:41:30] at
[00:41:31] here
[00:41:31] the
[00:41:32] idea
[00:41:33] of
[00:41:33] this
[00:41:35] duality
[00:41:36] of sorts
[00:41:36] within
[00:41:37] mankind
[00:41:37] himself
[00:41:38] this
[00:41:39] spiritual
[00:41:40] double
[00:41:41] of
[00:41:42] man
[00:41:42] this
[00:41:43] etheric
[00:41:43] double
[00:41:43] it's
[00:41:44] referred to
[00:41:45] in many
[00:41:45] ways
[00:41:46] and
[00:41:46] Steiner
[00:41:47] teaches
[00:41:47] about
[00:41:47] this
[00:41:48] and
[00:41:48] it's
[00:41:48] comparable
[00:41:49] thing
[00:41:50] to
[00:41:50] the
[00:41:51] aramonic
[00:41:51] influence
[00:41:52] going on
[00:41:52] here
[00:41:53] in the
[00:41:53] world
[00:41:53] today
[00:41:54] as
[00:41:54] Steiner
[00:41:55] describes
[00:41:55] it
[00:41:55] and
[00:41:56] it
[00:41:56] represents
[00:41:57] something
[00:41:57] else
[00:41:58] as
[00:41:58] well
[00:41:59] it
[00:41:59] represents
[00:41:59] something
[00:42:00] separate
[00:42:00] from
[00:42:01] the
[00:42:02] rest
[00:42:02] of
[00:42:03] the
[00:42:03] physical
[00:42:04] body
[00:42:04] of
[00:42:04] man
[00:42:05] and
[00:42:06] we're
[00:42:06] going to
[00:42:06] get a little
[00:42:07] bit more
[00:42:07] into that
[00:42:08] let's
[00:42:08] continue
[00:42:08] reading
[00:42:09] here
[00:42:10] man's
[00:42:11] liquid
[00:42:11] life
[00:42:11] is
[00:42:12] therefore
[00:42:12] a good
[00:42:12] name
[00:42:13] to have
[00:42:13] given
[00:42:13] to
[00:42:14] the
[00:42:14] blood
[00:42:14] for
[00:42:15] this
[00:42:15] constantly
[00:42:15] changing
[00:42:16] special
[00:42:16] fluid
[00:42:17] is
[00:42:17] assuredly
[00:42:17] as
[00:42:18] important
[00:42:18] to
[00:42:18] man
[00:42:18] as
[00:42:19] is
[00:42:19] cellulose
[00:42:20] to
[00:42:20] the
[00:42:20] lower
[00:42:20] organisms
[00:42:21] the
[00:42:22] distinguished
[00:42:22] scientist
[00:42:23] Ernst
[00:42:23] Haeckel
[00:42:24] who has
[00:42:25] probed deeply
[00:42:25] into the workings
[00:42:26] of nature
[00:42:26] in several of his
[00:42:27] popular works
[00:42:28] has rightly drawn
[00:42:29] attention to the fact
[00:42:30] that blood
[00:42:31] is in reality
[00:42:32] the latest factor
[00:42:34] to originate in an
[00:42:35] organism
[00:42:36] if we follow the
[00:42:37] development of the
[00:42:38] human embryo
[00:42:39] we find that the
[00:42:40] rudiments of bone
[00:42:41] and muscle are
[00:42:41] evolved long before
[00:42:42] the first tendency
[00:42:44] towards blood
[00:42:44] formation becomes
[00:42:46] apparent
[00:42:46] the groundwork for the
[00:42:47] formation of the
[00:42:48] blood
[00:42:49] with all its
[00:42:50] attendant systems
[00:42:51] of blood
[00:42:51] vessels
[00:42:52] appears very late
[00:42:53] in the development
[00:42:54] of the embryo
[00:42:55] and from this
[00:42:55] natural science
[00:42:56] has rightly
[00:42:57] concluded that
[00:42:58] the formation
[00:42:58] of blood
[00:42:59] occurred late
[00:43:00] in the evolution
[00:43:01] of the universe
[00:43:02] that other powers
[00:43:03] which were there
[00:43:04] had to be raised
[00:43:05] to the height
[00:43:06] of blood
[00:43:06] so to speak
[00:43:07] in order to bring
[00:43:08] about at that
[00:43:09] height
[00:43:10] what was to be
[00:43:11] accomplished
[00:43:11] inwardly in the
[00:43:12] human being
[00:43:13] not until the
[00:43:14] human embryo
[00:43:15] has repeated
[00:43:16] in itself
[00:43:16] all the earlier
[00:43:17] stages of
[00:43:18] human growth
[00:43:19] thus attaining
[00:43:20] to the condition
[00:43:20] in which the
[00:43:21] world was
[00:43:21] before the
[00:43:22] formation of
[00:43:23] blood
[00:43:23] is it ready
[00:43:25] to perform
[00:43:25] this crowning
[00:43:26] act of evolution
[00:43:28] the transmuting
[00:43:29] and uplifting
[00:43:30] of all that
[00:43:31] had gone before
[00:43:32] it into
[00:43:32] the very special
[00:43:34] fluid
[00:43:34] which we call
[00:43:35] blood
[00:43:36] and I'm going
[00:43:36] to pause
[00:43:36] for a moment
[00:43:37] there folks
[00:43:37] so Steiner's
[00:43:38] quoting from
[00:43:39] Haeckel
[00:43:40] Haeckel
[00:43:41] for those who
[00:43:42] don't know
[00:43:42] this was the
[00:43:44] guy who came
[00:43:45] up with the
[00:43:45] original drawings
[00:43:46] of the embryonic
[00:43:48] stages of the
[00:43:49] human fetus
[00:43:49] and in
[00:43:51] through its
[00:43:52] various phases
[00:43:54] of formation
[00:43:56] it's claimed
[00:43:57] it was claimed
[00:43:58] by Haeckel
[00:43:59] that it goes
[00:43:59] through all
[00:44:00] these different
[00:44:00] steps of
[00:44:01] evolution
[00:44:02] and whereas
[00:44:04] it first looks
[00:44:05] like say
[00:44:06] like a reptile
[00:44:08] or something
[00:44:09] like that
[00:44:09] before it
[00:44:09] finally looks
[00:44:10] like a mammal
[00:44:11] and then develops
[00:44:12] into what's
[00:44:13] called a human
[00:44:14] what they refer
[00:44:14] to as the
[00:44:15] human embryo
[00:44:16] now
[00:44:17] so Haeckel
[00:44:18] came up
[00:44:18] with all
[00:44:19] these drawings
[00:44:19] and he was
[00:44:20] proven wrong
[00:44:21] about all
[00:44:23] of this
[00:44:23] through time
[00:44:24] this is where
[00:44:25] the idea
[00:44:25] that when
[00:44:26] babies are
[00:44:26] developing
[00:44:27] in the womb
[00:44:28] and I'm sure
[00:44:29] we've all heard
[00:44:30] one version
[00:44:30] of this or
[00:44:31] another
[00:44:31] that at one
[00:44:32] point they
[00:44:32] actually have
[00:44:33] gills
[00:44:34] and this is
[00:44:35] the guy
[00:44:35] that came up
[00:44:36] with that
[00:44:36] theory
[00:44:38] and he
[00:44:39] drew this
[00:44:40] he made
[00:44:40] very famous
[00:44:41] drawings
[00:44:41] of this
[00:44:42] early on
[00:44:43] this was
[00:44:44] back in
[00:44:44] the 1800s
[00:44:45] when he
[00:44:45] came up
[00:44:45] with these
[00:44:46] ideas
[00:44:46] put them
[00:44:47] forward as
[00:44:48] mainstream
[00:44:48] science
[00:44:49] and this
[00:44:50] is not
[00:44:50] true
[00:44:50] human beings
[00:44:52] never have
[00:44:52] gills in
[00:44:53] any form
[00:44:54] of their
[00:44:54] development
[00:44:55] as an
[00:44:55] embryo
[00:44:56] so this
[00:44:57] is a
[00:44:58] false
[00:44:58] thing
[00:44:58] and Haeckel's
[00:44:59] been proven
[00:45:00] wrong about
[00:45:00] this but
[00:45:01] Steiner's
[00:45:01] quoting Haeckel
[00:45:02] here and
[00:45:03] as far as
[00:45:04] the blood
[00:45:05] being the
[00:45:05] last thing
[00:45:06] to develop
[00:45:06] I don't
[00:45:07] know if
[00:45:07] that holds
[00:45:08] true
[00:45:08] either
[00:45:08] but in
[00:45:09] terms of
[00:45:10] trying to
[00:45:11] draw the
[00:45:12] connections here
[00:45:13] to occult
[00:45:13] science
[00:45:13] I see
[00:45:14] what
[00:45:15] Steiner's
[00:45:15] doing
[00:45:15] but the
[00:45:17] thing is
[00:45:17] you always
[00:45:18] have to take
[00:45:19] a lot of
[00:45:19] this stuff
[00:45:20] with a grain
[00:45:20] of salt
[00:45:21] like I've
[00:45:21] said
[00:45:21] many of
[00:45:22] these ideas
[00:45:23] have been
[00:45:23] proven wrong
[00:45:24] especially when
[00:45:25] you're talking
[00:45:26] about the
[00:45:27] ideas Haeckel
[00:45:28] put forth
[00:45:28] right
[00:45:29] so that
[00:45:31] being the
[00:45:31] case
[00:45:31] we have
[00:45:32] to keep
[00:45:34] that in
[00:45:34] mind
[00:45:34] like a lot
[00:45:35] of this
[00:45:35] information is
[00:45:36] a little
[00:45:36] bit dated
[00:45:36] now
[00:45:37] but Steiner
[00:45:38] overall
[00:45:39] was trying to
[00:45:40] impress the
[00:45:41] idea of
[00:45:41] the spiritual
[00:45:43] connotation
[00:45:43] of the
[00:45:44] blood
[00:45:45] and what's
[00:45:45] involved
[00:45:45] with that
[00:45:46] and you
[00:45:47] notice how
[00:45:47] all these
[00:45:48] secret societies
[00:45:49] groups
[00:45:49] they always
[00:45:50] try to pull
[00:45:50] it back
[00:45:51] to the
[00:45:51] idea of
[00:45:52] evolution
[00:45:52] and of
[00:45:53] course the
[00:45:53] idea of
[00:45:54] evolution
[00:45:54] they're
[00:45:55] talking about
[00:45:56] is much
[00:45:56] different
[00:45:56] than what
[00:45:57] has been
[00:45:58] accepted
[00:45:58] by the
[00:45:58] mainstream
[00:45:59] as
[00:46:00] evolution
[00:46:00] or
[00:46:01] Darwinian
[00:46:02] evolution
[00:46:02] that's a
[00:46:03] perversion
[00:46:03] of what
[00:46:04] the teaching
[00:46:04] is
[00:46:04] it's about
[00:46:05] the spiritual
[00:46:06] advancement
[00:46:06] of man
[00:46:07] spiritual
[00:46:08] evolution
[00:46:08] so
[00:46:09] that being
[00:46:11] the case
[00:46:11] these things
[00:46:12] have been
[00:46:12] twisted
[00:46:13] and contorted
[00:46:13] all out
[00:46:14] of context
[00:46:14] and doing
[00:46:15] stuff like
[00:46:16] this
[00:46:16] does not
[00:46:17] help
[00:46:18] that
[00:46:19] message
[00:46:19] to come
[00:46:20] across
[00:46:20] that this
[00:46:21] stuff
[00:46:21] has been
[00:46:22] perverted
[00:46:23] from the
[00:46:23] original
[00:46:24] meaning
[00:46:24] and implied
[00:46:26] to mean
[00:46:26] something else
[00:46:27] so stuff
[00:46:28] like this
[00:46:28] that describes
[00:46:29] the physical
[00:46:30] development
[00:46:30] of the human
[00:46:31] fetus
[00:46:31] in this
[00:46:32] way
[00:46:32] and trying
[00:46:33] to equate
[00:46:34] it to some
[00:46:34] grander
[00:46:35] thing
[00:46:35] does not
[00:46:36] help
[00:46:37] in this
[00:46:38] matter
[00:46:38] all it
[00:46:39] does
[00:46:39] is further
[00:46:39] distort
[00:46:40] the teachings
[00:46:41] and cause
[00:46:42] more minds
[00:46:42] to focus
[00:46:44] in on
[00:46:45] the materialist
[00:46:46] viewpoint
[00:46:46] or the
[00:46:46] hyper-materialist
[00:46:47] viewpoint
[00:46:48] because when
[00:46:49] you're viewing
[00:46:49] these ideas
[00:46:50] from the
[00:46:50] context
[00:46:51] of okay
[00:46:52] well what
[00:46:52] the occultists
[00:46:53] were describing
[00:46:54] was just
[00:46:54] simply the
[00:46:55] physical
[00:46:55] development
[00:46:56] of the
[00:46:56] embryo
[00:46:57] in utero
[00:46:58] so that's
[00:46:59] where they
[00:46:59] got this
[00:47:00] idea from
[00:47:00] see
[00:47:01] this leads
[00:47:01] the human
[00:47:02] mind
[00:47:02] away from
[00:47:03] spiritual
[00:47:04] things
[00:47:04] and more
[00:47:05] into
[00:47:05] physical
[00:47:06] things
[00:47:07] or hyper-physical
[00:47:08] things
[00:47:09] hyper-material
[00:47:10] things
[00:47:10] right into
[00:47:12] this
[00:47:13] aramonic
[00:47:14] influence
[00:47:14] that Steiner
[00:47:15] warns about
[00:47:15] and he's even
[00:47:16] doing it here
[00:47:17] probably unaware
[00:47:18] that he's doing
[00:47:19] it
[00:47:19] he's leading
[00:47:20] people's minds
[00:47:21] astray
[00:47:22] with that kind
[00:47:23] of a context
[00:47:24] here
[00:47:24] and that's
[00:47:26] the bottom
[00:47:26] line
[00:47:26] so especially
[00:47:28] when you're
[00:47:28] talking about
[00:47:29] stuff like
[00:47:29] what they call
[00:47:30] the occult
[00:47:31] anatomy
[00:47:31] of man
[00:47:32] this is
[00:47:34] something that
[00:47:34] further promotes
[00:47:36] this viewpoint
[00:47:36] this materialist
[00:47:37] viewpoint
[00:47:38] and it's
[00:47:39] something that
[00:47:40] draws the
[00:47:40] mind away
[00:47:42] from spiritual
[00:47:43] things
[00:47:43] and more
[00:47:44] towards
[00:47:44] strictly
[00:47:45] physical
[00:47:45] material world
[00:47:46] things
[00:47:47] thinking in
[00:47:48] those terms
[00:47:48] that this
[00:47:49] is all there
[00:47:49] is
[00:47:50] and there's
[00:47:51] nothing more
[00:47:52] there's no
[00:47:52] spiritual realm
[00:47:53] beyond that
[00:47:54] because you
[00:47:54] see what
[00:47:56] they claim
[00:47:56] within these
[00:47:58] occult teachings
[00:47:58] about the
[00:47:59] occult
[00:48:00] anatomy
[00:48:00] of man
[00:48:01] and these
[00:48:01] kind of
[00:48:02] things
[00:48:02] they're
[00:48:02] teaching
[00:48:03] that these
[00:48:03] spiritual
[00:48:04] concepts
[00:48:04] that have
[00:48:05] come about
[00:48:05] and these
[00:48:05] religious
[00:48:06] ideas
[00:48:06] and teachings
[00:48:07] and all
[00:48:08] of this
[00:48:09] stuff
[00:48:09] are based
[00:48:10] upon a
[00:48:10] strictly
[00:48:11] physical
[00:48:11] thing
[00:48:12] and that's
[00:48:13] the context
[00:48:13] that most
[00:48:14] of the people
[00:48:14] that study
[00:48:15] this stuff
[00:48:15] and actually
[00:48:16] wind up
[00:48:16] coming across
[00:48:17] this kind
[00:48:18] of thing
[00:48:18] walk away
[00:48:19] with
[00:48:19] they think
[00:48:20] oh
[00:48:20] well see
[00:48:21] all religions
[00:48:22] nonsense
[00:48:22] all these
[00:48:23] spiritual
[00:48:23] things are
[00:48:24] nonsense
[00:48:24] because all
[00:48:25] they're talking
[00:48:25] about is
[00:48:26] this physical
[00:48:26] process that
[00:48:27] goes on
[00:48:27] within the
[00:48:28] body
[00:48:29] you see
[00:48:29] and this
[00:48:30] focuses them
[00:48:31] more in
[00:48:32] on the
[00:48:33] physical
[00:48:33] world
[00:48:34] the material
[00:48:35] world
[00:48:35] focuses their
[00:48:36] attention on
[00:48:37] the hyper
[00:48:37] materialist
[00:48:38] viewpoint
[00:48:38] and further
[00:48:39] entrenches
[00:48:40] them in
[00:48:41] that
[00:48:41] and where
[00:48:43] does this
[00:48:43] all lead
[00:48:44] when we
[00:48:45] get bound
[00:48:45] in this
[00:48:45] material
[00:48:46] mindset
[00:48:47] well this
[00:48:48] is what
[00:48:48] steiner
[00:48:49] had called
[00:48:49] the advent
[00:48:50] of
[00:48:50] ahriman
[00:48:51] the influence
[00:48:52] of ahriman
[00:48:53] in this
[00:48:53] world
[00:48:53] hyper
[00:48:55] physicality
[00:48:55] hyper
[00:48:56] materialism
[00:48:57] consumerism
[00:48:58] all of
[00:48:59] these different
[00:48:59] ideas bound
[00:49:00] up in
[00:49:01] this
[00:49:02] these things
[00:49:02] that will
[00:49:03] lead your
[00:49:03] mind
[00:49:04] astray
[00:49:04] and to
[00:49:05] think in
[00:49:05] terms of
[00:49:06] strictly
[00:49:06] that this
[00:49:07] is it
[00:49:07] this is
[00:49:08] all that
[00:49:08] exists
[00:49:08] this physical
[00:49:09] world
[00:49:09] of five
[00:49:10] senses
[00:49:10] that we
[00:49:10] can see
[00:49:11] and hear
[00:49:12] and detect
[00:49:12] and experience
[00:49:13] here
[00:49:14] this is all
[00:49:15] there is
[00:49:15] that there's
[00:49:15] no spiritual
[00:49:16] thing beyond
[00:49:17] this
[00:49:17] there's nothing
[00:49:18] beyond this
[00:49:19] that's what
[00:49:20] that does
[00:49:21] and I don't
[00:49:22] think many
[00:49:23] of these
[00:49:23] people who
[00:49:24] teach these
[00:49:25] ideas
[00:49:26] have that in
[00:49:27] mind when
[00:49:27] they teach
[00:49:28] it but
[00:49:28] that's certainly
[00:49:29] what it does
[00:49:30] it further
[00:49:31] entrenches
[00:49:31] the idea
[00:49:32] of the
[00:49:32] materialist
[00:49:33] paradigm
[00:49:33] and in
[00:49:35] so doing
[00:49:36] they're leading
[00:49:36] people astray
[00:49:37] from the
[00:49:38] true spiritual
[00:49:39] concepts on
[00:49:40] which many
[00:49:40] of these
[00:49:41] things were
[00:49:41] built
[00:49:41] many of
[00:49:43] these things
[00:49:43] were intended
[00:49:45] so with
[00:49:46] that being
[00:49:47] the case
[00:49:47] you see
[00:49:48] the concept
[00:49:49] here that
[00:49:51] the body
[00:49:51] the physical
[00:49:52] body
[00:49:53] replicates
[00:49:54] something or
[00:49:54] brings forward
[00:49:56] the effects
[00:49:57] from the
[00:49:57] spiritual
[00:49:58] or causal
[00:49:59] realm
[00:50:00] this is
[00:50:01] what's
[00:50:01] lost on
[00:50:02] people
[00:50:02] okay
[00:50:03] because then
[00:50:04] they see
[00:50:04] it backwards
[00:50:05] so rather
[00:50:06] than seeing
[00:50:07] okay
[00:50:07] this spiritual
[00:50:09] substructure
[00:50:09] exists and
[00:50:10] brings into
[00:50:11] manifestation
[00:50:11] these things
[00:50:12] in the
[00:50:12] physical world
[00:50:13] they see
[00:50:14] it as
[00:50:14] backwards
[00:50:14] they see
[00:50:15] it as
[00:50:15] oh okay
[00:50:16] well
[00:50:16] early mankind
[00:50:17] these old
[00:50:18] occultists
[00:50:19] and scientists
[00:50:20] and philosophers
[00:50:22] and stuff
[00:50:22] well they
[00:50:22] discovered early
[00:50:23] on that these
[00:50:24] physical processes
[00:50:25] go on in the
[00:50:26] human body
[00:50:26] and this is
[00:50:27] what they based
[00:50:27] all their
[00:50:28] teachings on
[00:50:29] in order to
[00:50:29] manipulate
[00:50:30] people
[00:50:30] and that's
[00:50:31] what they
[00:50:32] based all
[00:50:32] their religious
[00:50:32] ideas and
[00:50:33] philosophies and
[00:50:34] stuff on
[00:50:35] is they were
[00:50:36] just looking at
[00:50:37] this physical
[00:50:38] thing and this
[00:50:39] is what they
[00:50:39] were talking
[00:50:40] about and
[00:50:40] everybody
[00:50:41] misconstrued it
[00:50:42] so they
[00:50:42] kind of went
[00:50:42] with it and
[00:50:43] created this
[00:50:44] whole spiritual
[00:50:44] aspect of
[00:50:45] things which
[00:50:46] doesn't exist
[00:50:47] that's what
[00:50:48] people are taking
[00:50:49] away from this
[00:50:50] rather than
[00:50:51] what was
[00:50:52] intended here
[00:50:53] to think in
[00:50:54] terms of
[00:50:55] things manifest
[00:50:56] first in
[00:50:58] the causal
[00:50:58] worlds or
[00:50:59] the spiritual
[00:51:00] places in
[00:51:01] the spiritual
[00:51:01] realm and
[00:51:02] then
[00:51:04] eventually
[00:51:05] what happens
[00:51:06] is they
[00:51:06] manifest here
[00:51:07] in the
[00:51:07] physical
[00:51:07] so this
[00:51:09] has been
[00:51:09] inverted
[00:51:10] you see how
[00:51:11] these teachings
[00:51:11] have been
[00:51:12] inverted and
[00:51:13] some of them
[00:51:13] not intentionally
[00:51:14] so but I
[00:51:15] assure you
[00:51:16] most people
[00:51:17] who wind up
[00:51:18] coming across
[00:51:19] these types
[00:51:19] of ideas
[00:51:20] when they're
[00:51:20] talking about
[00:51:22] the physiology
[00:51:23] of man
[00:51:24] right the
[00:51:25] occult anatomy
[00:51:26] of man
[00:51:26] the ideas
[00:51:27] of even
[00:51:28] how they
[00:51:29] refer to it
[00:51:29] as the
[00:51:30] Christos
[00:51:30] this special
[00:51:32] fluid that
[00:51:33] goes up and
[00:51:33] down the
[00:51:34] spinal column
[00:51:35] from the
[00:51:35] brain the
[00:51:36] crown chakra
[00:51:37] all the way
[00:51:38] down to the
[00:51:38] sacrum and
[00:51:39] back and
[00:51:39] forth and
[00:51:40] sexual
[00:51:40] reproductive
[00:51:41] energy and
[00:51:41] stuff like
[00:51:42] that stored
[00:51:42] up and
[00:51:44] the way
[00:51:44] they talk
[00:51:44] about this
[00:51:45] stuff they
[00:51:45] talk about
[00:51:46] it as a
[00:51:47] physical
[00:51:48] thing on
[00:51:50] which all
[00:51:50] of these
[00:51:51] other ideas
[00:51:51] have been
[00:51:52] misconstrued in
[00:51:54] a spiritual
[00:51:54] context which
[00:51:55] doesn't exist
[00:51:56] do you see how
[00:51:57] they've taken it
[00:51:57] and inverted it
[00:51:58] when it's the
[00:51:59] opposite is true
[00:52:00] they're talking
[00:52:00] about something
[00:52:01] different when
[00:52:03] they're talking
[00:52:03] about the idea
[00:52:04] of what they
[00:52:05] call the
[00:52:05] Christos or
[00:52:06] this energy
[00:52:06] that goes up
[00:52:07] and down the
[00:52:08] spine it's
[00:52:09] not a literal
[00:52:10] physical substance
[00:52:11] that goes up
[00:52:11] and down the
[00:52:12] human spine
[00:52:13] folks that's
[00:52:14] not what's
[00:52:15] being taught
[00:52:16] when you really
[00:52:17] get down to
[00:52:17] brass tacks
[00:52:18] with this stuff
[00:52:19] but that's
[00:52:20] how it's
[00:52:20] been misconstrued
[00:52:21] very grossly
[00:52:22] by most of
[00:52:23] these secret
[00:52:24] society groups
[00:52:24] and most of
[00:52:25] these occultists
[00:52:26] out there
[00:52:27] so then
[00:52:28] they're teaching
[00:52:29] what
[00:52:29] well they're
[00:52:30] influencing
[00:52:30] people's
[00:52:31] minds
[00:52:31] to believe
[00:52:32] in things
[00:52:33] like atheism
[00:52:34] or agnosticism
[00:52:36] it leads
[00:52:37] people away
[00:52:38] from the
[00:52:38] spiritual
[00:52:39] and that's
[00:52:40] a dangerous
[00:52:40] position because
[00:52:41] that's not
[00:52:42] what this
[00:52:42] stuff is
[00:52:43] talking about
[00:52:43] this is
[00:52:44] talking about
[00:52:45] something that
[00:52:45] manifests
[00:52:46] in a spiritual
[00:52:47] way in a
[00:52:47] spiritual
[00:52:48] context
[00:52:48] it's not
[00:52:49] a literal
[00:52:50] thing that
[00:52:51] happens within
[00:52:52] the human
[00:52:53] physical body
[00:52:54] and that's
[00:52:55] where the
[00:52:56] misconception
[00:52:56] comes in
[00:52:57] and that's
[00:52:58] where everybody's
[00:52:59] getting led
[00:52:59] astray with a
[00:53:00] lot of this
[00:53:00] stuff
[00:53:01] and we'll
[00:53:02] get to the
[00:53:03] importance here
[00:53:04] of what
[00:53:04] exactly does
[00:53:05] the blood
[00:53:05] represent
[00:53:06] because it's
[00:53:07] the same
[00:53:08] context with
[00:53:08] blood
[00:53:09] as well
[00:53:10] and that's
[00:53:11] where many
[00:53:12] of these
[00:53:12] dark occultists
[00:53:14] and stuff
[00:53:14] have gotten
[00:53:16] it misconstrued
[00:53:17] and how
[00:53:17] it's become
[00:53:18] so perverted
[00:53:19] and twisted
[00:53:19] in the way
[00:53:20] that it
[00:53:20] has
[00:53:20] because it's
[00:53:22] not representing
[00:53:23] truly what
[00:53:24] they think
[00:53:24] it does
[00:53:25] let's continue
[00:53:26] reading here
[00:53:27] if we would
[00:53:29] study those
[00:53:30] mysterious laws
[00:53:31] of the spiritual
[00:53:31] universe which
[00:53:32] exist behind
[00:53:33] the blood
[00:53:34] we must occupy
[00:53:35] ourselves a
[00:53:36] little with some
[00:53:36] of the most
[00:53:37] elementary concepts
[00:53:38] of theosophy
[00:53:39] these have often
[00:53:40] been set forth
[00:53:41] and you will
[00:53:42] see that these
[00:53:43] elementary ideas
[00:53:44] of theosophy
[00:53:45] are the
[00:53:46] above
[00:53:47] and that
[00:53:48] this above
[00:53:49] is expressed
[00:53:49] in the important
[00:53:50] laws governing
[00:53:51] the blood
[00:53:52] as well as
[00:53:53] the rest of
[00:53:54] life as though
[00:53:55] in a
[00:53:55] physiognomy
[00:53:56] those present
[00:53:58] who are already
[00:53:59] well acquainted
[00:54:00] with the
[00:54:00] primary laws
[00:54:01] of theosophy
[00:54:02] will
[00:54:02] I trust
[00:54:03] here
[00:54:04] permit a
[00:54:04] short repetition
[00:54:05] of them
[00:54:05] for the benefit
[00:54:06] of others
[00:54:07] who are here
[00:54:08] for the first
[00:54:09] time
[00:54:09] indeed such
[00:54:10] repetition
[00:54:11] may serve
[00:54:11] to render
[00:54:12] these laws
[00:54:13] more and more
[00:54:13] clear to the
[00:54:14] former
[00:54:14] by hearing
[00:54:15] them thus
[00:54:16] applied
[00:54:16] to new
[00:54:17] and special
[00:54:18] cases
[00:54:18] to those
[00:54:19] of course
[00:54:20] who know
[00:54:21] nothing about
[00:54:21] theosophy
[00:54:22] who have not
[00:54:23] yet familiarized
[00:54:24] themselves with
[00:54:25] these conceptions
[00:54:26] of life
[00:54:26] and of the
[00:54:27] universe
[00:54:27] that which I
[00:54:28] am about to
[00:54:29] say may seem
[00:54:30] a little else
[00:54:31] than so many
[00:54:32] words strung
[00:54:33] together
[00:54:33] of which they
[00:54:34] can make
[00:54:35] nothing
[00:54:35] but the fault
[00:54:37] does not
[00:54:37] always consist
[00:54:38] in the lack
[00:54:39] of an idea
[00:54:39] behind the words
[00:54:40] when the latter
[00:54:41] convey nothing
[00:54:42] to a person
[00:54:43] indeed
[00:54:44] we may
[00:54:45] here adopt
[00:54:45] with a slight
[00:54:46] alteration
[00:54:47] a remark
[00:54:47] of the witty
[00:54:48] Lichtenberg
[00:54:49] who said
[00:54:50] quote
[00:54:50] if a head
[00:54:51] and a book
[00:54:52] come into
[00:54:53] collision
[00:54:53] and the resulting
[00:54:54] sound is a hollow
[00:54:55] one
[00:54:55] the fault
[00:54:56] need not
[00:54:57] necessarily
[00:54:57] be that
[00:54:58] of the book
[00:54:59] end quote
[00:54:59] and so
[00:55:01] it is with
[00:55:02] our contemporaries
[00:55:03] when they pass
[00:55:03] judgment on
[00:55:04] theosophical
[00:55:05] truths
[00:55:05] if these
[00:55:06] truths
[00:55:07] should in
[00:55:07] the ears
[00:55:08] of many
[00:55:08] sound like
[00:55:09] mere words
[00:55:10] words to
[00:55:10] which they
[00:55:11] cannot attach
[00:55:11] any meaning
[00:55:12] the fault
[00:55:13] need not
[00:55:13] necessarily
[00:55:14] rest with
[00:55:14] theosophy
[00:55:15] those however
[00:55:16] who have
[00:55:17] found their
[00:55:17] way into
[00:55:18] these matters
[00:55:18] will know
[00:55:19] that behind
[00:55:20] all illusions
[00:55:21] to higher
[00:55:22] beings
[00:55:22] such beings
[00:55:23] do actually
[00:55:24] exist
[00:55:24] although they
[00:55:25] are not
[00:55:26] to be found
[00:55:27] in the world
[00:55:27] of the senses
[00:55:28] our
[00:55:29] theosophical
[00:55:30] conception
[00:55:31] of the universe
[00:55:32] shows us
[00:55:32] that man
[00:55:33] as far as
[00:55:34] he is revealed
[00:55:35] to our senses
[00:55:36] in the external
[00:55:36] world
[00:55:37] as far as
[00:55:38] his shape
[00:55:38] and form
[00:55:39] are concerned
[00:55:39] is but a
[00:55:40] part of
[00:55:41] the complete
[00:55:42] human being
[00:55:43] and that
[00:55:43] in fact
[00:55:44] there are
[00:55:45] many other
[00:55:45] parts
[00:55:46] behind
[00:55:46] the physical
[00:55:47] body
[00:55:47] man possesses
[00:55:49] this physical
[00:55:50] body in
[00:55:50] common with
[00:55:51] all the
[00:55:51] so called
[00:55:52] lifeless
[00:55:53] mineral
[00:55:53] objects
[00:55:54] that surround
[00:55:54] him
[00:55:55] over and
[00:55:56] above this
[00:55:57] however
[00:55:57] man possesses
[00:55:59] the etheric
[00:55:59] or vital
[00:56:00] body
[00:56:01] the term
[00:56:01] etheric
[00:56:01] is not
[00:56:02] here used
[00:56:03] in the same
[00:56:03] sense as
[00:56:04] when applied
[00:56:04] by physical
[00:56:05] science
[00:56:06] this etheric
[00:56:07] or vital
[00:56:08] body
[00:56:08] as it is
[00:56:09] sometimes
[00:56:09] called
[00:56:09] far from
[00:56:10] being any
[00:56:11] figment
[00:56:11] of the
[00:56:12] imagination
[00:56:12] is as
[00:56:13] distinctly
[00:56:14] visible
[00:56:14] to the
[00:56:14] developed
[00:56:15] spiritual
[00:56:15] senses
[00:56:16] of the
[00:56:16] occultist
[00:56:17] as are
[00:56:18] externally
[00:56:19] perceptible
[00:56:19] colors
[00:56:20] to the
[00:56:20] physical
[00:56:20] eye
[00:56:21] this etheric
[00:56:22] body
[00:56:22] can actually
[00:56:23] be seen
[00:56:23] by the
[00:56:24] clairvoyant
[00:56:25] it is the
[00:56:26] principle
[00:56:26] which calls
[00:56:27] the inorganic
[00:56:27] materials
[00:56:28] into life
[00:56:29] which summoning
[00:56:30] them from
[00:56:31] their
[00:56:31] lifeless
[00:56:32] condition
[00:56:32] weaves
[00:56:33] them into
[00:56:34] the thread
[00:56:34] of life's
[00:56:35] garment
[00:56:36] do not
[00:56:37] imagine
[00:56:37] that this
[00:56:38] body
[00:56:38] is to
[00:56:38] the occultist
[00:56:39] merely
[00:56:39] something
[00:56:40] which he
[00:56:40] adds in
[00:56:41] thought
[00:56:41] to what
[00:56:42] is
[00:56:42] lifeless
[00:56:43] this is
[00:56:44] what the
[00:56:45] natural
[00:56:45] scientists
[00:56:46] try to
[00:56:46] do
[00:56:46] they try
[00:56:47] to
[00:56:47] complete
[00:56:48] what they
[00:56:49] see
[00:56:49] with the
[00:56:50] microscope
[00:56:50] by inventing
[00:56:51] something
[00:56:52] which they
[00:56:53] call
[00:56:53] the life
[00:56:54] principle
[00:56:55] now
[00:56:56] such a
[00:56:56] standpoint
[00:56:57] is not
[00:56:57] taken
[00:56:58] by
[00:56:58] theosophical
[00:56:59] research
[00:56:59] this
[00:57:00] has
[00:57:01] a
[00:57:01] fixed
[00:57:01] principle
[00:57:02] it
[00:57:02] does
[00:57:02] not
[00:57:03] say
[00:57:03] here
[00:57:04] I
[00:57:04] stand
[00:57:04] as
[00:57:04] a
[00:57:04] seeker
[00:57:05] just
[00:57:05] as
[00:57:05] I
[00:57:05] am
[00:57:06] all
[00:57:06] that
[00:57:06] there
[00:57:07] is
[00:57:07] in
[00:57:07] the
[00:57:08] world
[00:57:08] must
[00:57:08] conform
[00:57:09] to
[00:57:24] but
[00:57:24] rather
[00:57:26] he
[00:57:26] into
[00:57:27] whose
[00:57:27] range
[00:57:27] of
[00:57:28] experience
[00:57:28] such
[00:57:28] matters
[00:57:29] may
[00:57:29] have
[00:57:29] entered
[00:57:29] now
[00:57:30] man
[00:57:31] is
[00:57:31] in
[00:57:31] a
[00:57:32] state
[00:57:32] of
[00:57:32] evolution
[00:57:33] and
[00:57:33] for
[00:57:33] this
[00:57:34] reason
[00:57:34] theosophy
[00:57:35] says
[00:57:35] if you
[00:57:36] remain
[00:57:37] as
[00:57:37] you
[00:57:37] are
[00:57:38] you
[00:57:38] will
[00:57:39] not
[00:57:39] see
[00:57:39] the
[00:57:39] etheric
[00:57:40] body
[00:57:40] and
[00:57:41] may
[00:57:41] therefore
[00:57:41] indeed
[00:57:42] speak
[00:57:42] of
[00:57:42] the
[00:57:42] boundaries
[00:57:43] of
[00:57:43] knowledge
[00:57:44] and
[00:57:45] of
[00:57:45] ignor
[00:57:46] but
[00:57:48] you
[00:57:49] may
[00:57:49] develop
[00:57:49] and
[00:57:50] acquire
[00:57:50] the
[00:57:51] necessary
[00:57:51] faculties
[00:57:52] for
[00:57:52] the
[00:57:52] cognition
[00:57:52] of
[00:57:53] spiritual
[00:57:53] things
[00:57:54] you
[00:57:54] will
[00:57:54] no
[00:57:54] longer
[00:57:55] speak
[00:57:55] of
[00:57:56] the
[00:57:56] boundaries
[00:57:56] of
[00:57:56] knowledge
[00:57:57] for
[00:57:57] these
[00:57:57] only
[00:57:57] exist
[00:57:58] as
[00:57:58] man
[00:57:59] has
[00:57:59] not
[00:57:59] yet
[00:58:00] developed
[00:58:00] his
[00:58:01] inner
[00:58:01] senses
[00:58:01] it
[00:58:02] is
[00:58:02] for
[00:58:02] this
[00:58:03] reason
[00:58:03] that
[00:58:03] agnosticism
[00:58:05] constitutes
[00:58:05] so heavy
[00:58:06] a drag
[00:58:06] upon
[00:58:07] our
[00:58:07] civilization
[00:58:07] for
[00:58:08] it
[00:58:08] says
[00:58:09] man
[00:58:09] is
[00:58:10] thus
[00:58:10] and
[00:58:10] thus
[00:58:11] and
[00:58:11] being
[00:58:12] thus
[00:58:12] and
[00:58:12] thus
[00:58:12] he
[01:00:54] that
[01:00:54] we
[01:00:54] may
[01:00:54] not
[01:00:55] realize
[01:00:55] that
[01:00:56] that's
[01:00:56] what's
[01:00:56] going
[01:00:56] on
[01:00:57] but
[01:00:57] this
[01:00:57] speaks
[01:00:58] to
[01:00:58] inner
[01:00:59] experience
[01:01:00] we
[01:01:01] have
[01:01:01] our
[01:01:01] inner
[01:01:02] thoughts
[01:01:02] we
[01:01:03] experience
[01:01:03] life
[01:01:04] for
[01:01:04] ourselves
[01:01:05] it's
[01:01:05] about
[01:01:06] our
[01:01:06] individuality
[01:01:07] individualism
[01:01:08] the
[01:01:09] I
[01:01:09] am
[01:01:10] the
[01:01:10] I
[01:01:11] see
[01:01:12] that
[01:01:12] that's
[01:01:12] what
[01:01:12] this
[01:01:12] is
[01:01:13] the
[01:01:13] I
[01:01:13] capital
[01:01:14] I
[01:01:14] the
[01:01:15] letter
[01:01:15] I
[01:01:16] capital
[01:01:16] I
[01:01:16] I
[01:01:17] am
[01:01:17] the
[01:01:18] idea
[01:01:18] of
[01:01:19] what
[01:01:19] is
[01:01:19] consciousness
[01:01:20] right
[01:01:20] what constitutes
[01:01:21] consciousness
[01:01:22] what constitutes
[01:01:23] the human
[01:01:23] being
[01:01:24] the human
[01:01:24] soul
[01:01:24] it's
[01:01:25] this
[01:01:25] individualism
[01:01:26] this
[01:01:27] individuality
[01:01:28] that we
[01:01:28] have
[01:01:28] combined
[01:01:29] with
[01:01:29] free
[01:01:30] will
[01:01:30] that's
[01:01:31] what
[01:01:32] makes
[01:01:32] us
[01:01:32] manifest
[01:01:33] as
[01:01:34] human
[01:01:34] beings
[01:01:35] that's
[01:01:36] what
[01:01:36] makes
[01:01:36] us
[01:01:36] special
[01:01:37] we've
[01:01:37] been
[01:01:37] given
[01:01:38] this
[01:01:38] gift
[01:01:38] we
[01:01:38] have
[01:01:39] the
[01:01:39] divine
[01:01:39] spark
[01:01:39] but
[01:01:40] we
[01:01:40] have
[01:01:40] also
[01:01:41] this
[01:01:43] individuality
[01:01:43] that
[01:01:44] exists
[01:01:44] we
[01:01:44] are
[01:01:45] unique
[01:01:46] each
[01:01:47] of
[01:01:47] us
[01:01:47] is
[01:01:47] unique
[01:01:48] and
[01:01:48] we
[01:01:48] experience
[01:01:50] through
[01:01:51] this
[01:01:51] inner
[01:01:52] working
[01:01:52] within
[01:01:53] us
[01:01:53] through
[01:01:53] this
[01:01:54] inner
[01:01:55] experience
[01:01:55] this
[01:01:56] inner
[01:01:57] world
[01:01:57] our
[01:01:58] thought
[01:01:58] world
[01:01:59] where
[01:02:00] we
[01:02:00] actually
[01:02:01] have
[01:02:01] our
[01:02:02] feelings
[01:02:03] and
[01:02:03] our
[01:02:04] experiences
[01:02:05] the
[01:02:06] things
[01:02:06] that
[01:02:06] we
[01:02:06] think
[01:02:07] that
[01:02:07] all
[01:02:08] happens
[01:02:08] within
[01:02:09] us
[01:02:09] it's
[01:02:10] not
[01:02:10] something
[01:02:10] that's
[01:02:10] external
[01:02:11] to
[01:02:11] us
[01:02:11] the
[01:02:12] world
[01:02:12] around
[01:02:13] us
[01:02:13] this
[01:02:13] is
[01:02:13] all
[01:02:13] external
[01:02:14] to
[01:02:14] us
[01:02:15] all
[01:02:15] these
[01:02:15] objects
[01:02:16] and
[01:02:16] different
[01:02:16] people
[01:02:17] and
[01:02:17] everything
[01:02:17] we
[01:02:17] experience
[01:02:18] and see
[01:02:18] and meet
[01:02:19] we
[01:02:19] internalize
[01:02:20] that
[01:02:20] in a
[01:02:21] way
[01:02:21] this
[01:02:22] happens
[01:02:22] within
[01:02:22] our
[01:02:23] inner
[01:02:23] being
[01:02:23] within
[01:02:24] our
[01:02:24] inner
[01:02:24] selves
[01:02:25] so
[01:02:26] this
[01:02:26] is
[01:02:26] the
[01:02:26] important
[01:02:27] concept
[01:02:27] here
[01:02:28] now
[01:02:28] the
[01:02:28] claim
[01:02:29] that's
[01:02:29] made
[01:02:29] here
[01:02:29] by
[01:02:29] the
[01:02:30] the
[01:02:30] the
[01:02:30] the
[01:02:30] the
[01:02:30] the
[01:02:30] the
[01:02:30] the
[01:02:32] the
[01:02:32] the
[01:02:33] the
[01:02:35] the
[01:02:35] the
[01:02:36] the
[01:02:36] the
[01:02:36] the
[01:02:39] the
[01:02:52] the
[01:02:57] the
[01:03:01] the
[01:03:02] the vegetable, the animal, and the human. That's what the human being has. He has the four
[01:03:08] constituents there of these different worlds as they're described through Theosophy and some of
[01:03:13] the other teachings. And they all describe the same things, just very much, very similar.
[01:03:19] Sometimes they use different words to describe them, but this is all basically what the occult
[01:03:24] philosophy teaches. Let's get back to the reading here because I want to finish some of this up and
[01:03:30] put together some important ideas and really put the capstone on all of it so people can understand
[01:03:36] what's being taught here about the blood and what's the significance of it. Man, however,
[01:03:43] towers above the animal through the possession of something quite distinct and thoughtful people
[01:03:47] have at all times been aware wherein this superiority consists. It is indicated in what
[01:03:53] Jean Paul says of himself in his autobiography. He relates that he could quite well remember the day
[01:04:00] when he stood as a child in the courtyard of his parents' house, and the thought suddenly flashed
[01:04:05] across his mind that he was an ego, a being capable of inwardly saying, I, to itself. And he tells us
[01:04:13] that this made a profound impression upon him. All the so-called external science of the soul
[01:04:19] overlooks the most important point which is here involved. I will ask you, therefore, to follow me for a
[01:04:25] few moments in making a survey of what is a very subtle argument, yet one which will show you how the
[01:04:31] matter stands. In the whole of human speech there is one small word which differs in toto from all the
[01:04:38] rest. Each one of you can name the things around you. Each one can call a table a table, and a chair a chair.
[01:04:46] But there is one word, one name, which you cannot apply to anything save that which owns it.
[01:04:53] And this is the little word, I.
[01:04:56] None can address another as I. This I has to sound forth from the innermost soul itself. It is the name
[01:05:04] which only the soul itself can apply to itself. Every other person is a you to me, and I am a you to him.
[01:05:12] All religions have recognized this I as the expression of that principle in the soul, through which its
[01:05:19] innermost being, its divine nature, is enabled to speak. Here then begins that which can never
[01:05:26] penetrate through the exterior senses, which can never, in its real significance, be named from
[01:05:32] without, but which must sound forth from the innermost being. Here begins that monologue, that soliloquy of
[01:05:39] the soul, whereby the divine self makes known its presence when the path lies clear for the coming of the
[01:05:46] spirit into the human soul. And I'm going to pause for a second here, folks. So this is your internal
[01:05:53] monologue. I. I this, I that. You refer to yourself as I. I am sitting here right now. This is me.
[01:06:01] And everybody else is a you, or a him, or a her, or a they, however you want to view this.
[01:06:08] So this one little word, this tiny word, has so much power in its context, I. Because this is what the
[01:06:19] soul calls itself. See, this is self-referential. This is your individuality coming forward here.
[01:06:26] Your spirit. It's been said that some people don't have an internal monologue. Have you ever heard that?
[01:06:32] I don't understand that. I could never comprehend how somebody couldn't possibly have any kind of
[01:06:39] internal monologue going on. That is claimed by some people. And there's no way to really prove or
[01:06:45] disprove this, though. That's, that's the whole problem. So when it comes down to it, there's only
[01:06:50] one I, only one me, you see. And each of us is that expression of the divine spark, an individualized
[01:07:01] expression of the divine spark. We're all unique. And we all experience this inner world, this inner
[01:07:10] self that we see that we call I. And Diners alluding here that this is the I am that's referred to in
[01:07:18] religion. That this has very much a role in that. And it's hard to argue the point, because there's
[01:07:27] really no way to argue the point. I mean, I don't believe that I am God, as some of these secret
[01:07:33] teachings and secret schools teach. I believe to a certain degree that maybe we are all a fractal
[01:07:38] image of God, because we are created in his image. And we all have this individualized existence
[01:07:43] that he's given us in this free will. But that doesn't make us God, the creator of all things,
[01:07:49] the creator of the universe. But it makes us special, because we are created in his image. We have
[01:07:55] that divine spark. This is an assurance thereof, that we have that divine spark, that I could
[01:08:01] comprehend that I am something different from everything else. What's the significance of
[01:08:06] the blood in all this? Blood is, therefore, an expression of the individualized etheric body,
[01:08:14] just as the brain and spinal cord are the expression of the individualized astral body. And it is this
[01:08:20] individualizing which brings about that which lives as the ego or I, or I am. Having followed man thus
[01:08:31] far in his evolution, we find that we have to do with a chain consisting of five links affecting,
[01:08:37] first, the physical body, second, the etheric body, and third, the astral body. These links are,
[01:08:43] the first link, the inorganic neutral physical forces. And the second one is the vital fluids,
[01:08:50] which are also found in plants. The third, the lower or sympathetic nervous system. Fourth,
[01:08:56] the higher astral body, which has been evolved from the lower one and which finds its expression
[01:09:01] in the spinal cord in the brain. And fifth of all, the principle that individualizes
[01:09:06] the etheric body. What is this principle that individualizes the etheric body? It's the blood,
[01:09:13] folks. Just as these two latter principles have been individualized, so will the first principle
[01:09:20] through which lifeless matter enters the human body, serving to build it up, also become the
[01:09:25] individualized but in our present day humanity. We find only the first rudiments of this transformation.
[01:09:31] We have seen how the external formless substances enter the human body, and how the etheric body
[01:09:37] turns these materials into living forms. How further, the astral body fashions pictures of the external
[01:09:43] world. How this reflection of the external world resolves itself into inner experiences, and how this
[01:09:50] inner life then reproduces from within itself pictures of the outer world. Gonna pause there, folks.
[01:09:57] So this gives a brief description of consciousness, how the theosophists teach consciousness works.
[01:10:03] These different things, these different parts of the human physical anatomy are the vehicles through
[01:10:11] which different of our various forms manifest. They claim the astral body is connected to the brain
[01:10:20] and spinal cord, and that the blood and the heart, the circulatory system, is the connection to the
[01:10:28] etheric. You see, so they equate these spiritual ideas to these physical parts. This is a representation
[01:10:35] of something else. It's a connection, a connecting point between these different viewpoints, these
[01:10:43] different worlds. It represents something different in the spiritual. So they're talking about this
[01:10:49] metamorphosis of man, and how evolutionary processes take place, and how man is evolving
[01:10:55] to this higher spiritual level. Let's read on here. Now, when this metamorphosis extends to the etheric
[01:11:04] body, blood is formed. The blood vessels, together with the heart, are the expression of the transformed
[01:11:11] etheric body in the same way in which the spinal cord and brain express the transformed astral body,
[01:11:17] just as by means of the brain the external world is experienced inwardly. So also, by means of the
[01:11:25] blood, this inner world is transformed into an outer expression in the body of man. I shall have to speak
[01:11:33] in similes in order to describe to you the complicated processes which have now to be taken into account.
[01:11:39] The blood absorbs those pictures of the outside world which the brain has formed within, transforms them
[01:11:46] into living constructive forces, and with them builds up the present human body. Blood is therefore the
[01:11:55] material that builds up the human body. We have before us a process in which the blood extracts from
[01:12:01] its cosmic environment the highest substance it can possibly obtain vis-à-vis oxygen, which renews the blood
[01:12:09] and supplies it with fresh life. In this manner, our blood is caused to open itself to the outer world.
[01:12:16] We have thus followed the path from the exterior world to the interior one, and also back again from
[01:12:23] that inner world to the outer one. Two things are now possible. We see that blood originates when man
[01:12:30] confronts the external world as an independent being. When out of the perceptions to which the external
[01:12:37] world has given rise, he in his turn produces different shapes and pictures on his own account,
[01:12:44] thus himself becoming creative and making it possible for the ego, the individual will, to come into life.
[01:12:52] A being in whom this process had not yet taken place would not be able to say, I or I am.
[01:12:59] In the blood lies the principle for the development of the ego. The I can only be expressed when a being is
[01:13:06] able to form within itself the pictures which it has obtained from the outer world. An I,
[01:13:13] being, must be capable of taking the external world into itself and of inwardly reproducing it.
[01:13:20] Were man merely endowed with a brain, he would only be able to reproduce pictures of the outer world
[01:13:26] within himself and to experience them within himself. He would then only be able to say,
[01:13:32] the outer world is reflected in me as in a mirror. If, however, he is able to build up a new form for
[01:13:39] this reflection of the external world, this form is no longer merely the external world reflected.
[01:13:46] It is I. A creature possessed of a sympathetic nervous system only reflects the world which surrounds
[01:13:52] it. It does not perceive that outer world as itself, as its inner life. A being possessed of a
[01:14:00] spinal cord in a brain perceives the reflection as its inner life. But when a creature possesses blood,
[01:14:06] it experiences its inner life as its own form. By means of the blood, assisted by the oxygen of the
[01:14:14] external world, the individual body is formed according to the pictures of the inner life.
[01:14:20] This formation is expressed as the perception of the I, or I am.
[01:14:27] The ego turns in two directions, and the blood expresses this fact externally. The vision of the
[01:14:34] ego is directed inwards. Its will is turned outwards. The forces of the blood are directed inwards.
[01:14:41] They build up the inner man, and again they are turned outwards to the oxygen of the external world.
[01:14:48] This is why, on going to sleep, man sinks into unconsciousness. He sinks into that which his
[01:14:54] consciousness can experience in the blood. When, however, he again opens his eyes to the outer world,
[01:15:01] his blood adds to its constructive forces the pictures produced by the brain and the senses.
[01:15:06] Thus, the blood stands midway, as it were, between the inner world of pictures and the exterior living
[01:15:13] world of form. This role becomes clear to us when we study two phenomena, vis-a-vis ancestry,
[01:15:21] the relationship between conscious beings, and experience in the world of external events.
[01:15:27] Ancestry, or descent, places us where we stand in accordance with the law of blood relationship.
[01:15:33] A person is born of a connection, a race, a tribe, a line of ancestors, and what these ancestors have
[01:15:39] bequeathed to him is expressed in his blood. In the blood is gathered together, as it were,
[01:15:45] all that the material past has constructed in man, and in the blood is also being formed,
[01:15:51] all that is being prepared for the future. When, therefore, man temporarily suppresses his
[01:15:57] higher consciousness, when he is in a hypnotic state, or one of some nambalism, or when he is
[01:16:05] atavistically clairvoyant, he descends to a far deeper consciousness, one wherein he becomes
[01:16:10] dreamily cognizant of the great cosmic laws, but nevertheless perceives them much more clearly
[01:16:16] than the most vivid dreams of ordinary sleep. At such times, the activity of his brain is in
[01:16:21] abeyance, and during states of the deepest somnambulism, this applies also to the spinal cord.
[01:16:29] The man experiences the activities of his sympathetic nervous system, that is to say, in a dim,
[01:16:34] hazy fashion, he senses the life of the entire cosmos. At such times, the blood no longer expresses
[01:16:40] pictures of the inner life, which are produced by means of the brain, but it presents those
[01:16:45] which the outer world has formed in it. Now, however, we must bear in mind that the forces
[01:16:51] of his ancestors have helped to make him what he is. Just as he inherits the shape of his nose from
[01:16:57] an ancestor, so does he inherit the form of his whole body. At such times of suppressed consciousness,
[01:17:03] he senses his ancestors within him, even as during his waking consciousness, he senses the pictures
[01:17:08] of the outer world. That is to say, his forebears are active in his blood, and at such a time,
[01:17:15] he dimly takes part in their remote life. And I'm going to pause for a moment there, folks.
[01:17:19] So this is why ancestry and all of these different ideas are so important to the people in positions
[01:17:29] of power in this world. This is why they're obsessed with bloodlines, this kind of thing.
[01:17:34] They think mixing their blood with the commoners dilutes their occultic powers or their intelligence
[01:17:41] or things of this nature, their sense of I am or I. So they take this stuff very seriously.
[01:17:52] And to make a long story short here in what Steiner is conveying here,
[01:18:00] essentially, the idea of the blood is the connection between the inner life and the outer life,
[01:18:06] the inner experience with the outer experience. So it's kind of a transcendent thing here.
[01:18:15] It's an important idea. It's within the blood that the concept of the I or I am exists. It's about
[01:18:23] individuality. Blood is the conveyance, the physical symbol of this individuality that we have,
[01:18:33] the individualized ego, as he calls it here. So this is an important idea.
[01:18:41] Let's read on here. I'm going to skip down a little bit.
[01:18:44] We have seen that blood united to blood in the case of but remotely connected species of animals
[01:18:50] kills. Blood united to blood in the case of more closely allied species of animals does not kill.
[01:18:57] The physical organism of man survives when strange blood comes in contact with strange blood,
[01:19:03] but clairvoyant power perishes under the influence of this mixing of blood or exogamy.
[01:19:09] Going to pause for a moment there, folks.
[01:19:10] So this is why these royal families and stuff in these higher echelons of society,
[01:19:16] they intermarry with their own families because, you see, they think that by mixing blood,
[01:19:23] by mixing the blood with strange tribes or different family bloodlines and things like this,
[01:19:28] will lessen their clairvoyant powers or their spiritual conceptions here.
[01:19:36] So this is why they intermarry within their families.
[01:19:39] This is one of the things that the royal families and stuff like that hold dear.
[01:19:44] This is where the idea comes from. It comes from these old occult teachings.
[01:19:48] The mixing of blood, the importance of blood.
[01:19:51] So you see.
[01:19:52] But let's continue reading and we're going to wrap it up here.
[01:19:55] So it says here,
[01:19:57] Man is so constituted that when blood mingles with blood,
[01:20:00] which is not too far removed in evolution, the intellect is born.
[01:20:04] By this means, the original clairvoyance which belonged to the lower animal man was destroyed,
[01:20:09] and a new form of consciousness took its place.
[01:20:13] Thus, in the higher stage of human development,
[01:20:15] we find something similar to what happens at a lower stage in the animal kingdom.
[01:20:20] In the latter, strange blood kills strange blood.
[01:20:23] In the human kingdom, strange blood kills that which is intimately bound up with kindred blood vis-a-vis the dim, dreamy clairvoyance.
[01:20:32] Our everyday objective consciousness is therefore the outcome of a destructive process.
[01:20:38] In the course of evolution, the kind of mental life due to endogamy has been destroyed,
[01:20:43] but in its stead, exogamy has given birth to the intellect,
[01:20:48] to the wide-awake consciousness of the present day.
[01:20:51] That which is able to live in man's blood is that which lives in his ego.
[01:20:56] Just as the physical body is the expression of the physical principle,
[01:21:00] as the etheric body is the expression of the vital fluids in their systems,
[01:21:05] and the astral body of the nervous system,
[01:21:07] so is the blood the expression of the eye or ego.
[01:21:11] Physical principle, etheric body, and astral body are the above.
[01:21:16] Physical body, vital system, and nervous system are the below.
[01:21:19] Similarly, the ego is the above, and the blood is the below.
[01:21:25] Whoever therefore would master a man must first master that man's blood.
[01:21:31] Thus must be born in mind if any advance is to be made in practical life.
[01:21:37] For example, the individuality of a people may be destroyed if,
[01:21:41] when colonizing, you demand from its blood more than it can bear,
[01:21:45] for in the blood the ego is expressed.
[01:21:48] Beauty and truth possess a man only when they possess his blood.
[01:21:52] Mephistopheles obtains possession of Faust's blood because he desires to rule his ego.
[01:21:58] Hence, we may say that the sentence which has formed the theme of the present lecture
[01:22:02] was drawn from profound depths of knowledge,
[01:22:06] for truly, blood is a very special fluid.
[01:22:09] And that's the end of the text, folks.
[01:22:11] That's the end of the lecture.
[01:22:13] And essentially, what's been revealed here is the blood
[01:22:17] is the physical manifestation of individuality,
[01:22:21] and that in order to have control, or to have, how should we say here,
[01:22:27] power over another man,
[01:22:29] if you have his blood,
[01:22:32] you have power over his ego, his self,
[01:22:36] the I in him,
[01:22:39] and the I am in him.
[01:22:41] And this is what these dark occultists who run things in this world
[01:22:45] seek to have.
[01:22:46] They seek to have this control,
[01:22:50] this type of power over others.
[01:22:53] And so, the blood is the physical representation of that manifestation here
[01:22:59] in the physical world.
[01:23:01] So, to spill a man's blood is to take away his individuality,
[01:23:07] his individualized ego,
[01:23:09] or to maintain or obtain control over his individualized ego.
[01:23:16] You see where this goes within the occult circles,
[01:23:19] when these dark occultists who run things get their way,
[01:23:23] why they do blood rituals,
[01:23:26] and make these kinds of sacrifices and stuff.
[01:23:29] It's all about the obtaining of more power for themselves.
[01:23:32] It's about stealing somebody's soul.
[01:23:36] That's why they are obsessed with the blood.
[01:23:39] They think that having the power over the blood
[01:23:42] is to have power over the man.
[01:23:44] Now, is there a ring of truth to some of this?
[01:23:48] Perhaps.
[01:23:49] But when twisted and contorted into a perverted way
[01:23:53] that these mystery schools
[01:23:55] and some of these secret society groups have done so,
[01:23:59] this becomes a very ugly thing.
[01:24:01] But this is what lies in the power of the blood.
[01:24:04] This is what the symbol of the blood represents.
[01:24:06] The individualized ego,
[01:24:08] the I,
[01:24:09] the I am,
[01:24:10] the ability of man to recognize himself,
[01:24:14] for the man's soul to recognize itself
[01:24:16] and identify itself
[01:24:17] and to have this conscious experience.
[01:24:21] It's consciousness, folks.
[01:24:23] It's human consciousness, in a nutshell,
[01:24:25] is what blood represents.
[01:24:28] And it's a symbol.
[01:24:29] And like I said,
[01:24:30] don't get too hung up on the physical aspects of this
[01:24:33] because this represents something in a spiritual realm.
[01:24:36] It represents something higher than here.
[01:24:39] And this is where many of these dark occultists
[01:24:41] and these occultists that study this stuff
[01:24:43] and look at this stuff,
[01:24:44] this is where they get it wrong
[01:24:46] because they've equated it down to this strictly physical thing,
[01:24:49] this physical body,
[01:24:50] this physical manifestation,
[01:24:52] the blood.
[01:24:53] And it's a symbol.
[01:24:54] It represents something else.
[01:24:55] It represents something higher on the spiritual plane.
[01:24:58] It's a connection.
[01:25:00] So it has symbolic value.
[01:25:02] It's an archetypal thing.
[01:25:04] The life is in the blood.
[01:25:06] The individuality is in the blood.
[01:25:08] So that's what blood represents.
[01:25:09] And that's where in the true mystery
[01:25:11] of the power of the blood lies.
[01:25:13] And this gives a whole new connotation to things
[01:25:16] when you look at the Christian religion,
[01:25:19] first of all,
[01:25:21] and realize that we are washed
[01:25:24] in the power of the blood of Christ,
[01:25:25] that we are given his individualized spirit,
[01:25:30] a connection with that.
[01:25:32] This is a type of atonement with God
[01:25:35] that's represented in that
[01:25:37] on a highly symbolic level.
[01:25:39] So when the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus,
[01:25:43] as is talked about in the religious context here,
[01:25:46] is applied to us,
[01:25:48] then we have this connection with God,
[01:25:52] with source.
[01:25:53] You see?
[01:25:54] And that's where in some of the connotation lies.
[01:25:57] So the symbolism of the blood,
[01:25:59] this is what's represented.
[01:26:00] It's about the individualized ego.
[01:26:03] And we are but a fractal representation
[01:26:05] of the consciousness of God
[01:26:07] in that we are created with this divine spark,
[01:26:09] which is this individualized ego.
[01:26:12] And we are given connection back with that
[01:26:16] through the idea of the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
[01:26:20] And that's an important concept here.
[01:26:23] This is what Steiner taught here.
[01:26:25] This was what he talked upon in the lecture.
[01:26:27] There's power in the blood
[01:26:29] because this gives power
[01:26:30] over the individualized ego of a person
[01:26:32] if you have control or power over that blood.
[01:26:35] And that's where in some of these occultists
[01:26:38] and dark magicians and things
[01:26:40] and these dark occultists
[01:26:41] that run things at the top
[01:26:42] of the power structure in this world,
[01:26:44] this is where they've twisted
[01:26:46] and perverted this idea
[01:26:48] and have used it
[01:26:49] as a form of control over others
[01:26:51] or to obtain power over others
[01:26:53] or so they think.
[01:26:54] And this is what they act on.
[01:26:56] So even if you don't believe
[01:26:57] any of this stuff,
[01:26:57] even if you think it's absolute nonsense,
[01:26:59] understand there's people
[01:27:00] in positions of power in this world
[01:27:02] that absolutely believe in this stuff
[01:27:04] and will act upon it.
[01:27:05] And the things they do to act upon it
[01:27:07] will affect all of us.
[01:27:08] So it's important to understand
[01:27:10] that perspective
[01:27:10] to see whereabouts it comes from.
[01:27:13] And I think Steiner
[01:27:14] is one of the very few
[01:27:16] that explains these things very well
[01:27:18] to where you can understand it
[01:27:20] on a base level
[01:27:21] and see where they're coming from.
[01:27:22] And that's why I felt the need
[01:27:25] to pursue this tonight
[01:27:26] because there's so much confusion
[01:27:28] as to the nature of blood.
[01:27:30] Even right down to
[01:27:31] done shows on the RH factor in blood
[01:27:35] and what's the importance
[01:27:36] that's attributed to this.
[01:27:37] Same kind of thing.
[01:27:38] All right.
[01:27:39] So this is the basic concept here.
[01:27:41] The blood represents
[01:27:42] the individualized ego
[01:27:44] and to have power over the blood
[01:27:46] is to have power over the person.
[01:27:48] That's where in the big secret lies
[01:27:51] with these occultists.
[01:27:52] Anyway, folks,
[01:27:53] that's all I have for tonight.
